I just got scheduled for my first endo appointment, but the earliest they had an opening was April 15th.  Since it seems like it takes so long to get scheduled there, I was wondering if you actually start on hormones at the first appointment or if it's just bloodwork and whatnot.  I'm sure every place is different, and I'm going to a VA medical center. If anyone has experience they wouldn't mind sharing so I could have an idea of what's in store I would appreciate it.  ;D

They usually seem to need the results of blood tests first. Maybe ask them if you can get those tests beforehand, might speed up the process.

I'm not so concerned about speeding it up, I kind of have a plan to transition very slowly, with making the switch to full time happening between semesters at school, and it would probably be easiest to do that next summer since it is a longer break than winter.  With that being the plan, I imagine I'm sort of starting pretty early anyway.  I'm just more curious because starting is such a big milestone that it'd be nice to know if that is the date I should be excited about or if I should look like a month further into the future.  Thanks for the reply :-)

Usually once you're in with a specialist it is easier to get appointments that are less further apart if needs be. I think I saw my endo for a second time only a week after the first appointment.
