What changes -didn't- happen?

I'm just curious here. We discuss a lot about changes on T that did happen, making lists and all that. But what about the expected changes that didn't happen? Are there a few features that are stated online that didn't happen to you?

For me, after almost 10 months on T, I can say this didn't happen to me:
- Fat redistribution. So far, my hips and butt look exactly the same
- Libido. I'd say it remained the same
- Body hair. No chest hair whatsoever, hair on legs and arms is exactly the same. What did change was stomach and facial hair.
- Hair line changes
- Odor changes. I see this one mentioned a lot as one of the first changes, but I noticed no change
- Skin changes. My skin feels exactly the same

What about you guys?

For me, facial hair :p
I was SO hoping for good facial hair haha.

I am 4 and a half years on T, and I grow some stubble underneath my chin, but not enough to grow out. But that's all. But, despite being on T for so long, I am STILL hoping itll grow in ;p

Anyway, at 10months, while it is a good amount of time, that is still very early so there is still much time for more changes to happen. My hairline only subtly changed, but that took quite a while for me to notice. Over a year or 2.
Body hair, it slowly started coming in at around 6 months, but even at 3yrs, it was still improving noticeably.

Oh, and also fat redistribution can take a long time to happen. Slowly but surely. So don't worry for now :)

Hmmm, well I happen to agree with Make_It_Good - 10 months is far too soon to count out any of the changes you listed as having not happened to you - but in the spirit of the thread...

I'm only 2 years and 2 months on T and still reckon that some changes are yet to manifest.

That being said, what hasn't happened (yet):

*No significant hairline change (some, but nothing drastic)
*No hair loss
*No chest hair at all
*No attraction for men
*No anger/aggression issues
*No sideburns

I noticed that my body fat redistribution is most noticeable when I'm actually working out.  I've not been getting a lot of exercise since my top surgery, and I've noticed that I'm getting some love handles again where they would have been pre-T.

-facial hair is crappy for me
-hairline didn't change much, only I can see it after washing my hair
-chest hair just started to be more visible at half and a year(?)
-I didn't grow, my height, feet, hands are the same (I know it doesn't happen for everybody but I was hoping)

I'm 15 months and the one thing I had really hoped for (an adam's apple) didn't happen for me. I hope my voice continues to deepen. It's not female at all but it's not as deep as I would have liked. Oh well, such is life.

I do have a full beard now, chest hair is coming in, etc but I have back hair, and a receding hairline (some is growing back with Biotin).

This is weird, but I was expecting my cat to react to my T changes, especially the different smell and lower voice. I guess the changes were gradual enough, even though the voice change was abnormally fast, within the first month. The cat didn't react at all.

My sexual orientation hasn't been altered in any way, and I haven't gone bald. Other than that, in the past two years pretty much everything one can expect to happen has happened. No ill health effects either (as they say may be a negative change)...my cholesterol is high, however, is was borderline high before I started hormones so that has everything to do with lifestyle and genetics.

I'm at about the same spot as you as far as time on T, and my facial hair is still actively coming in.  I wouldn't give up hope.  If you think about it a 12-13 year old starting puberty wouldn't have a full beard until maybe even 5-6 years after T starts running rampant through their veins.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I think a lot of people misunderstand fat redistribution. It doesn't mean the fat itself moves, it means where the fat goes changes to a different place. Has your gut changed with fat going there instead? I work out a lot and especially so now, post top surgery, and my hips and butt are much different than 9 months ago, like drastically so! I've burned off a lot (but not all yet) of the fat there and new fat isn't accumulating there. Fat won't move or leave on its own, you have to work it away. There's also no such thing as targeted weight loss so that's why it takes a good amount of time, even with exercise, to get it gone as it's a gradual all over fat loss process. Like I said, I workout, but I'm prepping for a worldwide competition and training to insane athlete levels and 9 months on (with around 2 months off post surgery) I'm still not at where I want to be. It's a slow process.

However, if you are working it away and then actually still putting fat on at hips at butt, that's a different story and may indicate that you're not getting enough T, so if you haven't had levels checked, that might be worth doing.

I feel everything else for me is better than expected but my facial hair is at a really weird place. It grows so fast but only under chin, sides of tasche and sides of face and neck. Everything from cheek to neck is nothing and chin is here and there! I have to shave twice a day (if going out at night) to hide the fact that I have giant bald patches!!! Lol

I've just started getting chest hair, and my legs are almost too hairy! Lol. My thigh hair has darkened to match bottom of leg where it used to be much much lighter. I have that stomach hair too, that was before chest hair though, well before! Have you got any brothers to compare with? Do you have dark or light hair? If you don't have a brother to compare to, is your ethnicity one that normally gets particularly hairy. It could perhaps have an influence not just on amount but on how quickly.

As for things like smell or skin feeling different, these are more things that other people notice, not so much yourself because it's such a gradual thing. You may think your skin feels the same because it's been gradual for you, but if you were to say compare with a girl and feel her skin then yours, you might notice it. Or if a girl felt your face they'd identify it as a rougher, male skin. It's usually more from people you don't see everyday or live with too, because for them it's also been a gradual process, so they're not a good indicator either.

1 year on T
Not changed:

*Body hair.  My doctor thinks its a hair loss thing due to being older (I lost body hair that I had before T). I am getting a little bit facial hair though! :)
*Size of hands or feet (I didn't think this would change though).
* little guy hasn't grown very much. (Thinking of DHT)  :(

@Birkin, your sexual orientation doesn't change on T. Some folks might change but I believe it is a social change in feeling more comfortable with yourself. This happened to me but it was pre-T. I went from asexual to questioning. I just don't know. But I have a attraction which appears sexual. If you mean that you were attracted to girls and were IDed as a lesbian and you are still attracted to girls but are now IDed as straight. But you really didn't change.

tbh, I'm pretty sure this is what I believe as well. I've heard of some people who say that they were 100% sure they only liked women and then on T they changed to liking men (either exclusively, but more commonly, in addition to women). And it seems to happen to quite a few people, which is why I put it there I guess. But I find it hard to believe that just a hormone could biologically change one's sexual orientation, because they tried to use HRT to "cure" gays and lesbians.

I don't want to put any words into people's mouths but I'm curious how much this has to do with queer culture. Pre-transition guys may have strongly identified as being queer (lesbian at the time). This can become such a strong piece of someone's identity it may be difficult to let go of. Maybe these people didn't identify as straight while they were pre-transition and therefore weren't attracted to men. Post-transition, dating men no longer IDs them as straight, so it's more acceptable? Or maybe dating men connects them to queer culture?

I am not saying sexual orientation is fully someone's choice, but I think there are experiential factors and identities that can influence the way someone sees themselves outside of pure physical attraction.

Yeah I don't think it's from T, I think that when one feels more comfortable in their own skin ,they might think about partners they hadn't thought of before.

Ive been on T for probably 2 years or maybe 3 now.... I don't remember, but one of those years was at an extremely low dose so I probably shouldn't count it anyways.

The main thing I noticed that didn't happen that bothers me is...

I STILL can't put on weight. lol. Whether it be fat or muscle, I thought T would make me a bit less skinny than I am but I'm still really skinny even if I lift some weights and all that jazz. :(

It was also hard for me to gain weight. I started to work out regularly for 2 months maybe? I thought at the beginning I'm hopeless but today I saw that I put on 3 kgs since the start.
