I lived in a lofted warehouse for three years. Spring and fall were awesome. Summer it was unbearably hot inside, and winter it was utterly freezing. And the cost of climate control in a warehouse space is insane. But, all that aside, I do miss it. I had a whole mess of hens up inside my loft, because I had the space, and because they weren't a code violation, and because fresh eggs are awesome.
I live in Alaska, but many of the offerings I've seen offered free heating, electric, water, etc. Either way, it can totally be expensive for heating, just depends on how well built and how well insulated the place is. Plus summers aren't too hot, 70's is "hot" for us, lol.
