I am a very young FtM, I think puberty is still going on. So I have an appointment with an endo on May 2..... her waiting list extends very far, which is why I want to know a couple things.

My therapist told me that she might start me on hormone blockers first before starting me on T, however, do hormone blockers have to wait until after bloodwork? Do you even need bloodwork for blockers? Is a therapist's letter needed for blockers? Will it take more than 1 session for this to be done? How much they cost and how ((if possible)) they can be covered by insurance

Also, I want to start as quickly as possible, so I don't want to have to wait another 2+ months for another appointment just for blockers.

Can I have my bloodwork done at any clinic to check my t levels or whatever they need for it?

I appreciate any answers I get, I am extremely anxious.

At least in my case the Endo wanted base line results before starting anything. This lets them know where you stand as far as levels of "T" (in my case) before they start to juggle them with meds. I got the appointment and the first was just blood work and general health issue's. The next appointment is where things started rolling. :) Not the same everywhere, but it is where I live. :)

Thank you Jessica! Do you think I'll be able to get these tests done at my local clinic? If not, would it be wise to set up for a second appointment now so I don't have to wait as long as I do for the first?
