So far this morning;

1) Seeing the newest video by the L.A. Beast. He visited a fan in the hospital who was undergoing chemo and it made me smile seeing that Youtubers really do care about their fans. He did a video in honor of a high school student who passed away before and it was sweet IMO.

2) Knowing my fiance will be here in about 20 minutes and I'm about to leave for the bus station to pick him up.

3) My binder arrived at the post office early this morning and should be here soon!

Happiness from yesterday: I SAW METALLICA AND IT WAS AWESOME.

Happiness from today: I got mail from the hospital and my hysto will be done June 4th and for me that'll end my most drastic transition procedures. :) Unless I change my mind in the future and I decide to have SRS.

Happy birthday to Laverne Cox.

;D A day to celebrate, that's for sure. She is such an asset to the transgender community.

Indeed. She is a fantastic woman. Have you seen the Times? I like how proud she looks.

I had seen and liked a Mary Poppins one he did awhile back, but wasn't that impressed with some of the others. This one pushes all my buttons though since I loved this movie as much as Mary Poppins when I was a kid. Probably that effect would hold for any movie treatment and I'm as much a sucker for nostalgia as the next person.

Dinner in San Francisco with my brother and his wife.  We are pretty sure now that Rice-a-roni does not exist on a single menu here.

Today I got to go on a boat ride with a bunch of coworkers, some of whom I've come to consider good friends. It was this employee appreciation banquet, and it was really nice. We watched the sunset from the boat and took ridiculous selfies and a friend got some really cool photos of a bald eagle and another bird of prey that were both circling over the cliffs nearby. I really appreciated feeling included, even though I am a work-study employee and everyone else there (that I knew) was salaried. I have a general feeling of being excluded from life, so when I feel close enough to people to be in pictures with them, it's a really amazing feeling.

LOL... It's called Rice-A-Roni and the commercial jingle came about because of it's origins in the Mission District of SF

Rice-A-Roni

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rice-A-Roni is a product of PepsiCo's subsidiary, the Quaker Oats Company. It is a boxed food mix that consists of rice, vermicelli pasta, and seasonings. To prepare, the rice and pasta are browned in butter, then water and seasonings are added and simmered until absorbed...

History:

In 1895, Italian-born immigrant Domenico ("Charlie") DeDomenico moved to California, where he set up a fresh produce store. A successful businessman, he married Maria Ferrigno from Salerno, Italy. Back home, her family owned a pasta factory, so in 1912 she persuaded him to set up a similar business in the Mission District of San Francisco. The enterprise became known as Gragnano Products, Inc. It delivered pasta to Italian stores and restaurants in the area.

Domenico's sons, Paskey, Vince (1915–2007), Tom, and Anthony, worked with him. In 1934, Paskey changed the name to Golden Grain Macaroni Company. Inspired by the pilaf recipe she received from Mrs. Pailadzo Captanian, Tom's wife, Lois, created a dish of rice and macaroni, which she served at a family dinner. In 1958, Vince invented Rice-A-Roni by adding a dry chicken soup mix to rice and macaroni. It was introduced in 1958 in the Northwestern United States and went nationwide four years later. Because of its origins, it was called "The San Francisco Treat!".

After a trip to Italy in 1964, Vince returned with the idea for "Noodle Roni Parmesano", based on the classic Noodles Alfredo. As the product line extended with other shapes and sauces it was renamed from Noodle Roni to Pasta Roni in 1995. In 1986 Quaker Oats Company purchased the Golden Grain Company from the DeDomenico family. Since 2001, Rice-a-Roni has been owned by PepsiCo. American Italian Pasta Company bought the Golden Grain brand in 2003.

That's interesting to know and is a good use for rice rather than the usual boring applications that get served.

Listen up Jill!

Sweet coffee always reminds me of my grandpa. I started drinking coffee when I was around 12-13, and while my mother and grandmother would often refuse me he'd let me have a cup. I loved the old family cabin with him or staying with him and grandma for a weekend.

My peecock came :D
I don't know what a peecock is :/ but for some reason this seems like a very simple thing (ohhh its speeled different o the bird so maybe not so simple). but im in a simple thing mood today, kind of an "its the little things that make life great" kind of mood.

And came here to say, what made me happy today was, finding out a request of mine has been placed in the Christian song list (strong enough)
And seeing what I thought was happiness over another simple thing made me feel a bit better about my simple thing :)
