so i have been on hrt for about 8 months currently with using spiro as my anti androgen, i was on hrt a few years ago for a year and i was instead on cyproterone, now being on cypro really kept my libido down but it just replaced my libido and dysphoria with depression, so this time around i have been on spiro but unfortunatly i haven't seen a drop in my libido, i really dislike my out of control libido and just want it gone but i don't want to change my meds if they make me miserable or reduce the feminizing effects of my hrt,

has anyone else noticed a lack of reduction in libido since starting hrt?

You do realise that HRT won't actually 'kill' your libido? It'll change, but it won't die. Those who claim it does are mistaken.

I had a reasonably high libido before hormones and that hasn't changed - but what I want certainly has.

If changing or reducing your desires is your goal, meditation is much more effective than medication.

i think my libido actually might have reduced, i definitly have seen a change in the way i become aroused, but i think maybe since i have accepted myself as trans, i have moved on and currently i am focusing on my inner lesbian and that comes with actually enjoying the idea of sex in my current gender with the gender i desire,

blah blah im a mess, i just need the snow to melt so i can ride my bike, im spending my spare time at home on the computer or watching tv, i need a hobby, not enough snow to go sledding but to much to go for a cruise on my bike, ugh i hate spring/fall

Have you had your T levels checked?

Are you still taking Prometrium? That could be contributing as well.

As for the snow, we still have the month of April to deal with. :(

Then comes the rain . . .

Mmmm. 11 months HRT, and after the last  androcur bomb I was given (double dose, most people I know can't understand how I can tolerate it without suffering massive depression) My libido? Not a dent. I won't have random erections unless doing dirty chats or looking for porn, but the hornyness never goes away.

AA's not doing their work? I don't think so. Two years without sex and accumulated libido? Quite probably. I need daily masturbation every morning to have a clear head before studying.

My bet is that after getting laid once I'll be back to a normal dead libido for a loooooong time. If that ever happens.

Suspect it has more to do with how you are wired than anything.  Like most HRT stuff, we are all individuals.  I have absolutely zero libido. Thats it, I got nothing!  It dropped away significantly after I started finastreride and has continued downwards on spiro ad E.

Why is mine zero and yours lots?  We are different I guess.

I mean, I don't really have random erections anymore, but I didn't really notice a big change in libido to be honest. Perhaps a slight change in the quality of it, but I never really had the sort of libido most people describe so maybe I am just strange.
