Seeing what HRT has done for Laura is inspiring as all hell. Hearing about how wonderful her music career has been, feels defeating. Without trying to ignite a self-pity party, I'm her age, have been working hard at being a musician all my life, and I'll be homeless in ten days.

I watched the whole thing.   I love her and want to thank her.

The Rolling Stone article in 2012 was pivotal for me.  It made me really think about my own issues and I remember thinking to myself, "Well, what are you waiting for?"  I spent the whole summer mulling my gender issues and it started a cascade in my head that eventually triggered my meltdown.

I'm glad I survived, that I got the help I needed and can finally enjoy life.   Another year of the denial cycle might have ended up killing me.

I had a very similar response.  It kind of made me think, "if she's brave enough to do this on a stage in front of the world, why am I so scared?"  Because that thought is what shifted be from suppressing myself to embracing it, the moment in this interview where she said, "I'm a part of that statistic," hit me pretty hard.
