Shopping with my colleague from HR made me very happy today :-) . We took the lunch break for it but it took longer than an hour anyway. What a surprise!

When I wrote a weekly report to my manager I added a line: "I'm missing 1 hour as head of HR and I got stuck while shopping for new clothes today."

His response: "Two girls shopping. No surprise :-) ."

This actually happened during yesterday evening (CEST so I guess on the US west coast it still counts as today) but it caused such an endorphin flood that I could barely write down the daily entry to my transition diary. And I wish all the girls here (don't worry, you boys too :-) ), that are waiting for a similar moment, that it will come soon :-) .

Now the actual story. In the evening (19:40 local time) I took a walk around the village I have my house in, so that I can escape the overcrowded Prague where I work at during the weekends. As I was on my way back a dog started barking at me from across the fence. The dog's owner, a fairly old man, told him to stay quiet.
I said: "Dogs are in general very aggressive at me."
He replied: "He's not really aggressive. He just can't help himself when he sees such a cat to pass by."
I thanked him and then we talked for like 40 minutes about cats, food, thefts that happened nearby (really great neighbourly talk topic, I know :-) ). Surprisingly my voice didn't fail me and apparently my make-up still hid well the facial hair remnants under my nose. It shocked me a bit as we were like 1-1.5 meters from each other. So when I arrived home I felt like my brain is going to explode from how happy I felt. Never have I felt something that intense before.

And to explain the "cat" thing. In Czech Republic the word "cat" (translates to "kočka") is also used when talking about a good looking woman :-) .

EDIT: Forgot to mention the actual time.

Had FFS done with Dr Cardenas yesterday. I am very swollen but so far the results looks great! Never thought I would reach this point in my life so soon

I have a thread open about my FFS journey over at the FFS section of the forums for those interested! :)

Well it was Friday. But I actually made it to my second support group meeting. And I think I actually made a couple friends this time. 1 of them grabbed my phone and sent herself a friend request on facebook from my account. Outing myself slowly 1 friend at a time. Lol that was Friday and I'm sad today.

I know this feeling of elation and confirmation. I just had my gender marker changed on my Driver's License two Wednesdays ago, and now instead of an ugly mugshot I too have a beautiful woman smiling back at me. I now show my ID when asked with pride instead of shame. I just wish I had my Mom with me on that day to share in the experience.

Congratulations Megumi, you gotta be feeling really great right now. :icon_chick:

Best wishes! :icon_bunch:

Thanks! I'm beyond on top of the world feeling and it's been more than a few days since it all happened. I got a 6 pack of beer from the store just so I'd get carded and enjoyed every second and the cashier's expression when she saw that my name and gender were female on my ID :D

I feel the same way. I had to show mine at our state housing department today. Oh the look on some of their faces. The one girl who always helps me was very happy for me though. She and I have talked a little so she's familiar with my situation.

Enjoy it Megumi! You deserve the proper recognition!

I'm hoping to be able to launch my boat today -so far no rain. Hopefully it'll stay that way and I'll be a happy girl! The only drawback will be it's Saturday, and I'll have to put up with a bunch of men oogling me at the ramp.
