This may not sound happy at first but bear with me

After going to Edinburgh for my first IPL appointment for my chest (which is now pretty red) my return train was cancelled due to signalling difficulties. After being sent on a different train and then being told to get off and turn around again to come back for a bus which didn't exist I finally got on a new train bound for home an hour later.
During that time (and the following two hours by train) I managed to strike up a conversation with a fellow passenger in the same predicament. We had some entertaining discussion, (hobbies, uni etc...) and generally enjoyed each-others company. She's a bit of a human rights activist and the discussion strayed onto politics and discrimination and after a few minutes contemplation I told her that I was trans. She reacted pretty well, telling me that she was impressed that I was trying to be myself given the prejudice which still exists for us (not that I've experienced much of that yet, but there's still time

). She had a couple of questions and expressed the intention to learn more about transitioning and the struggles we face. After that we went back to talking about politics including our mutual disdain for radical feminists who give the rest of us a bad name.
We exchanged numbers and the next time I'm back in Edinburgh we'll meet up and go for a coffee

It's nice to have a stranger accept you for who you are. It's even better when you make a new friend
