My wife and I were in the checkout line at Target and this guy that was in front of us says, "OMG, your the tallest woman I've ever seen." (He was 2 inches shorter than my 6'7" self.) He wanted to stand next to me to compare his height to mine and then asks if I have a boyfriend. I responded with no, but my wife is right here. My wife, says "Yes, she is my wife!". Then he goes OK, but I would still like to get to know you and says something to the (female) cashier about me. I replied that I'm perfectly happy with my wife.
When we checked out and he left, the cashier said to me, "I can't believe some of the things that guy said about getting with you two ladies, and I can't believe he would say those things to anyone, especially to another woman."
It was certainly a validating experience, but at the same time kind of annoying, but it was also validating for my wife.
