Ordered these today  ;D  Two pairs of womens New Balance, one is the Fresh Foam 980 Trail (for walking or running on wooded trails) and the 1765 for walking on regular surface (the purple).  I AM EXCITED!  First running/walking shoes I've ever had, now if that UPS truck would just get here.  :)   Dani

This was a most welcome pick me up.

Ever since Saturday night I was feeling down in the dump.

Sometimes I know when I have bad stuff I get signs that tell me to keep my chin up. It may be perception on my part or maybe even something supernatural (if you believe in that stuff) but I do get them.

Wasn't expecting this.

BTW when I ordered chinese food today I was in total boy mode (coming from work) and they did not know how to address me. LOL.

I always wear trail running shoes because of my lifestyle. When I decided I had to transition one of the first things I got was a pair of NB women's trail shoes, somehow I knew I wouldn't need men's shoes this spring. They are very comfy, good on a bike too! I only have a few miles in mine thus far but I'm looking forward to adding more. Best part? They don't look weird on my feet like every pair of men's shoes I ever owned! Congrats on your purchase, I hope they come soon.

This isn't so much as what made me happy but more like what made me laugh today.

My elderly neighbour hasn't spoken to me since he realised that i'm trans, today I popped to the shops & when I got home the dog greeted me as he always does, with a toy in his mouth.
Unfortunately he couldn't find any of his toys as he's left them all in the garden, my neighbours face was priceless when the dog charged through the front door with one of my toys in his mouth. The woman who lives in the upstairs flat who has no problem with me being trans looked ready to burst as she tried not to laugh.

Bought some cheap boots and a bag on Woot! today.  It's not designer or anything, just for practice until I earn my wings to use the good stuff. :)

I promised myself when I go FT, for next winter I will buy some proper Uggs and a proper handbag. But now I have 3 styles of the cheap bags I can use for different occasions.

Anyway, shopping makes this girl happy happy. :)

Oh, and I got paid today.

So, I went to a steakhouse two nights ago and besides being misgendered (ARGH!) they really gave me bad service and bad food.  So, I submitted a complaint via their website:

QuoteI had a bad experience at the restaurant picking up my togo order and then, much to my dismay, my order was entirely problematic.

<restaurant address redacted>

First, I get the restaurant 10 minutes prior to my order pickup time of 7:10pm and stand by the bar (which was full –no seats available) and go unacknowledged for nearly ten minutes.  I asked one of the waitresses as they were flying in and out of the kitchen if I was in the right place to get my togo order and she says yes, and moves on.  I wait a few more minutes.  I finally flag a gentleman down by approaching the kitchen area and ask him how to get my order and he says to get it from a bartender.  I asked how I was to get their attention, and he offered to help me (finally!).  So, after he has trouble finding my order, and showing him my confirmation email to prove I ordered it for his restaurant, he then says it won't be long.  Roughly ten more minutes pass waiting for my order of:

7-Pepper Sirloin Caesar Salad
Temperature Choice: Medium
Dressing Choice: Balsamic Vinaigrette
Seasoned French Fries

When it is finally ready the female bartender hollers my name (mispronounced, of course).  I thank her and take my order.  As I am leaving the door, the gentleman taking seat reservations says "Have a good night, Sir."  A kind gesture, if I were a man!  Frustrated, I just leave.

I get back to my hotel and discover there is no receipt.  My expense report requires one.  I then notice the steak is scored four times and I am given cheap plastic utensils to cut and eat this with.  Of course they are completely insufficient.  Then I notice there is no pepper on the steak.  None.  The 'seasoned fries' are dry and have NO seasoning.

I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with this experience, except to say that it is highly unlikely that I will go through that again.

Ainsley
<last name and address redacted>

Today I got a response:

QuoteDear Ainsley,

Thank you for your email.

Whether taking your meal with you or dining-in with us, you should always be able to count on receiving prompt, courteous service. It is obvious from your email that we failed on that promise, and we apologize for the difficulties you experienced in picking up your order. The managers at our <city redacted> location will be utilizing your comments to ensure all of our guests consistently receive exemplary service.

You also brought to our attention other concerns regarding the items you were served. Ensuring your 7 Pepper Steak Salad as well as your seasoned fries were full of flavor and prepared correctly is top priority. Multiple issues certainly bring to our attention the need for retraining and education of the staff. Our Director of Operations will impress upon the management team the need to rededicate their efforts towards ensuring your delight on future visits.

I have also asked the management team to email you an itemized receipt.

To make things right, I am sending you a $35.00 gift card to the following address:

<my address redacted>

Your gift card should arrive by March 24, 2015.

Our Managing Partner, <redacted>, would love for you to call and let us know the next time you are coming in to dine. The number at the restaurant is <redacted>. If the Managing Partner is not in that day, please ask for another manager.

Thanks for dining at <restaurant name redacted>. We hope to see you again soon.

Sincerely,

Jessie
<restaurant name redacted> Steakhouse Guest Relations

Even though there was no apology for the misgendering (yes, it really gets under my skin) I feel like I won that one!
success!

I changed my contact info to my new name on both my parents' phones today...I haven't told them yet
When I was born the Dr. saw a penis and said "It's a Boy!" My only regret is that it took me 30+ years to figure out that I'd been lied to.  ;D

I had my first therapist session today. It went very well, and I like my new therapist. I was really nervous, but left feeling great.

Quite happy at the moment.
The girls are growing, will they stop and filling in nicely.
Starting to look very fem up top now. They really fill a bra perfectly.
Other changes skin so much nicer. I have forgotten how bad it felt before.

Work, a month into a new role and doing really well. Lots of positives from people on a job well done.
In my old role they are finding it now takes 4 people to do what I did. No surprise there. I am brilliant. From my boss.

Have a visit to the pain monster tomorrow.

I feel a visitor coming soon who will turn my world on its head.
Any guesses?
So long and thanks for all the fish

Congrats! A good therapist helps make it all go better.

Mine has been my rock. She's super smart, savvy, patient and understanding, is a committee member of WPATH and has never steered me wrong.

What made me happy today:

Had laser yesterday and hair is already falling off! She turned it up hotter yesterday, and it looks like it gave a better punch than last time.

OK GF, who is the visitor???   Sounds like you are doing great, I know it feels good to fill in a bra. That is such a nice feeling to me, love it.

Got a bunch of tops that I need for work, super happy. Now I'm trying to decide if I should go make a laser appointment or get my ears pierced... I love payday!

I would say get the laser. Ear piercing is cheap though. I need to get mine done.

I'll be kinda broke until the end of the month and I am a pinch penny so...I might just be patient and do neither. I'll be flush come mid April. Got some new headbands while I was at the grocery, that ought to hold me over!
