I changed both my name and my gender marker with Social Security today! While your Social card doesn't have a gender marker, there's a sex marker on the application, so I changed mine to 'F.' I brought my letter from my endocrinologist, and the man who handled my application was super nice about everything, and circled the 'F' to show me it had changed along with my name. This is the first time I've officially listed myself as 'female' in any of my documentation. It feels so amazing.

I looked down and saw actual cleavage for once last night. Here's the thing, since I'm usually wearing a t-shirt at both work and home, so I don't really see my boobs all that much, let alone cleavage. For once I was wearing a tank top though, I was laying in bed on my side listening to a comedy podcast with my eyes close. When it was over and I opened my eyes I looked down and was like "jesus christ, apparently these grew in somewhere along the past year. Seriously though:

26 years old. Started E in March '14 and Spiro over a year before that. Also, I'm effing awesome.

This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible. This was terrible with raisins in it

I said congrats already but I will say it again! Congrats!!

The gender marker is in their records and I believe employers will run some sort of check against it to verify your identity but I believe that was done away with. Either way it is good to keep it accurate.

Over the past few weeks I stopped shaving my legs to see how much hair I still have on them after more than 7 months on HRT. Today I couldn't take it anymore so I soaked in the tub, shaved my legs, drank a cup of tea and listened to Alan Turing's biography on Audible. Previously when I did this I had a rather large hairball clogging the drain when I let out the water. Today nothing! Strangely, the hair on my forearms doesn't seem reduced. (I don't shave them, presenting male.) Yay E!
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Sorry for all the posts, but a lot has been happening. I just got my driver's licence changed--new name, 'F' on the gender marker. The photo leaves volumes to be desired, but for that 'F,' I'll take almost anything. I also changed my name on my bank account. Because my father has access to it and neither parent knows I changed my name, and both are distraught at my transition, this will cause a serious clash soon. I'm worried about this. But living in the realest reality is more important for me, even as there is no way forward for me free of loss. Perhaps that is another good thing--me finally being able to accept that.

Eat. / You will love again the stranger who was your self./ Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart / to itself, to the stranger who has loved you / all your life, whom you ignored" - Walcott, "Love after Love"

Beautiful!

For my own part, my cousin posted a picture of my aunt, my mother's sister, when she was young. I have the same hairline! One more thing not to have to change. Actually, I look more than a bit like her.

Still early for me here so, best thing that happened to me yesterday would be finally joining and not just lurking. I feel like I have a home now, hehe.

Welcome, Vivien (~:

I've woken up with a happy thought -  to go out and buy my first bikini ...

Wonderful day!

Sweetie's been standoffish since my endo appointment at the beginning of the month. Today she let me cuddle with her on the loveseat and accepted kisses. Eventually we had to go out and do some shopping. On the way I saw a Harley for sale on the side of the roaf, pouted and commented. I'm up for two jobs at the retreat center she works for. She said if I got either one she'd be OK with me selling my car and getting another bike because we could commute together most days and wouldn't need two cars. Then she mentioned that I would have to dress better for work, a suit or "other" nice clothes, because I'd be dealing with benefactors to the nonprofit she works for. This is her oblique way of mentioning me wearing feminine attire. Things are definitely better. Progress!
