Having a little boy ask "Are you a boy or a girl" at work when you actually have visible stubble(in fact mainly on the neck, which was the area he had the best view of) is pretty rad. Estrogen is pretty cool.
26 years old. Started E in March '14 and Spiro over a year before that. Also, I'm effing awesome.

This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible. This was terrible with raisins in it

I was clocked today!!! By a kid no less!!!

Why am I posting this in the happy thread?

Because she clocked me as a woman! Even though I was in full male drag.

I went to pick up my kids again from school today. This kid was playing with them. She told them, "your mommy is here." One of my daughters said, "no that's my DADDY." She said,"no that's a girl!!! That's your mommy!!!"

I got my first ma'am today. It threw me for a loop, a young cashier at the grocery said it but I thought he said "man". Just as I was realizing it he said it again right to me! I was so flustered. It made the rest of my bike ride in the rain wonderful. When I got home I found a package from my Mom. She had bought me some shirts.

I am loving life right now...

Submitted my initial profile to Dr. McGinn's office this morning. I am so excited that perhaps by late summer by body will have a nice normal vagina. That will be so lovely to finally have a physically correct body.

Last night, I overheard my 5-year-old talking to my wife about our 1-year-old. She asked how we knew she was a girl, which my wife explained easily enough. My daughter then asked "What if she's a boy?" and my wife said that if she told us she was a boy, that would be ok and we'd believe her.

Then my daughter said, "Maybe she's transgender."

Kids today...

(I am not out to my kids yet, but my wife got a kid's book about Jazz Jennings a few weeks ago, which is why the 5-y-o is aware of the term. Apparently she was paying attention...)

That is so awesome! Kids become who we let them be and they have no bias that isn't learned. You and your wife are doing it right. :)

As for me, I had my first date with a guy! Well, not really a date, just a get together, but it was the first time I've presented somewhat female (I wore a hoody, barefoot, and dress) and it was absolutely amazing to be allowed to just be myself. I'm no where near passable (yet), but it was a good experience. Even if he never calls or texts Im still happy. :)
Carpe diem.

Yes, Happy Earth Day! With all the damage people do to the world much do to mindlessness, we need to be much more aware of what each of us can do. So often people believe that they can not impact the big industries that pollute, but we can all do little things. Less be mindful in our actions, and all contribute to a better world. Greater mindfulness will also contribute to better health in general.

So.... I decided to check an FFS website as they gave free interviews, I know I can't and possibly never will be able to afford it, but eh... Window shopping can be fun, eh? They required to take pics with your hair pulled back, and the pics I took had me traumatized, as I'd already been crying for days because of my hairline... I looked like a damn ogre.

See? To be honest I still have a hard time looking at that pic...

However A couple of minutes later I pulled off the band and...

I somehow suddenly felt like a person again... I guess that's valid as something that made me happy?

I got my letters today from thrapist and psychiatrist! The application is all filled out and I'm just waiting to hear back from Dr Bowers office on how they prefer to receive the documents.

Today Sweetie and I were eating lunch in a diner we've never been in before. I was freshly shaved (within 2 hours) wearing men's jeans, orange Converse sneakers with no socks and a black and white Dr. Who/Abbey Road sweatshirt. I had my brown coach men's bag with me. As she walked by she said, "can I bring you some drinks, girls?" My first pass from the front! I'm sure there will be plenty of mis-genderings going forward, but I was by no means trying! Here's to 7 months, 20 days of HRT!
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

They say the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. I say, climb aboard!

I had a great day. I went through all of my belongings except for three cases that hold some paintings. I threw out or recycled everything that I needed to leave behind. Particularly some writing and drawings that had always pained me. They were the quiet voiced evidence of my denial. I need to make new art and now I am closer to being able to do that.

Also, I went out in a skirt and flats for the first time. I wish I could wear skirts at work but it would just be impractical. I can't wait for the time off I have comming in greater quantity next week!

Had a bad day at work today... I'm not out, but I feel a little better sometimes when I take my hair down.... and it was bad enough that I took it down in a meeting.  This was the first time I've had my hair down at work... I ran into a woman in a hallway, and she absolutely flipped her ->-bleeped-<- over how awesome my hair was (not shown in profile pic).  :)

You lucky girl. What is your secret to thick nice hair? Please share with all of us. I would just love thick long hair. My nipples are really burning & itching today & so hard. It seems like a go in a cycle, some days no feelings much then some days like today. It hurts for anything to touch them almost. I'm a happy girl since they are growing, I'm maybe a small B cup & really do not want breast implants if mine will grow to a C cup size & fill in thicker.

Someone asked how I was doing and actually wanted to hear the honest truth...

Christy - "Not much"! Starting on spiro is a big step along the path! Blocking T, over time, will help with E increase. So all steps are important. Celebrate each and every little or big step!
