Hi,

I am 43, recently came out to my Mom as MtF and told her I'm transitioning.  She was wonderfully supportive, totally accepting of me.  However, I do think she is having her own private issues dealing with my transition, things I only see the very hints of because she doesn't want to worry or upset me.  She feels guilty, like her and my (deceased) father are responsible for the suffering I've had in my life.  I suspect that she's also a little bit perplexed and embarrassed and doesn't know how to tell her friends that already met me what's going on.

I am wondering if any other girls have Moms out there who are local to my Mom's area (she lives near Ft. Mill) who might have experience to share with her, perhaps by phone, eventually in person.  Since I am the one transitioning, I feel I can't really help Mom with the feelings she is having.  Someone who's been through having their adult son become their daughter might be able to help her in a way I can't.

If you'd be willing to put our Moms in touch (if, that is, I can sell her on the idea) I'd be eternally grateful.  I doubt if I could get Mom to attend a support group or see a therapist, but she might go for this.
