Hi, I am one month post-op with Dr. Monstrey in Gent, Belgium (penile inversion technique). The first two weeks I was sore and uncomfortable, but mobile and manageable. Starting about two weeks ago there began a feeling of tightness seemingly centered to the clitoris. It feels like every essence of my body (and maybe the whole universe) is pressing toward the clitoris. I can stand and walk around, but the discomfort and low-grade pain severely reduce mobility. I wonder if it has something to do with one entire side of the external genitalia being still swollen while the other is no longer swollen at all. I haven't seen anyone else mention this as part of their healing process so I am wondering if this is abnormal. Has anyone else experienced this?

I see the surgeon for a follow-up later this week, but having some indication whether this is normal would be nice.

As always keep close contact with your surgeon or Gyn.

I used ice for first month or so to help with some of the tightening pain. Swelling takes many months to go away.

Tightness is the natural part of healing. Hence the reason we need to dilate.

Everything in the surgery is stretched and relocated to different areas and will take time to settle.

Take things a day at a time as it is going to take lots of time to heal.

Wish you the best

I agree with Isabel completely on keeping in touch with your surgeon and his office.  Also the technique is by now irrelevant for you or she and I who had similar surgeries from different surgeons as long as you are following your recommended dilation and aftercare instructions.

One month post for me I was still having minor twinges from a yeast infection that had been around the second two weeks of post op.  Another thing is that your nerves are probably not registering things just right, and sensations you are feeling are not coming from the source they seem to be.  Example for me was a spot I would have sworn was on my labia majora, and was worried about granulation there near one line of the larger sutures.  It was actually happening on the suture line of a scrotal skin graft about 2/3 of the way into my vagina.  I agree too that maybe you should be putting an ice pack in your surgical area for a few days as you can to speed up the healing.  Another big day will be when the final sutures have fallen out.  You may have up to two or three more weeks of that, but again call the doctor or an Ob/Gyn and follow their advice.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Try to contact Jan Smeyers if you have queries. It is probably a typical Monstrey issue. Good luck!
