Like most male-bodied people in their 50s I pee more slowly. That has the result of a bladder that doesn't completely empty. That's gotten a lot better on Spiro.

However, when I pee from a sitting position, I still have draining problems. My bladder doesn't quite empty, meaning that I need pee again much sooner.

I asked my surgeon about this. She said that post-op I will no longer have the problem with draining when I sit down. I'll drain just as well sitting as I now do when I stand.

When I told my urologist, he disagreed. He said that SRS will not improve the ease of draining my bladder when I sit.

Have any post-ops had the problem pre-op that they didn't drain completely from a sitting position? Did it get better after surgery?
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I didn't have that problem, per se, but I *did* notice that my bladder drained much more quickly and easily post-op, so maybe my experience will help a little anyway. Basically, in the past it was like using a hose... even with a good hose, it takes a bit for the fluid to move through it. Now, without the "hose" and the urethra much shorter as well as wider, I basically pee in a gush that floods out very fast and then done.

(If you're wondering - yes, that was just tons of fun immediately post-op, when I had no control over the flow yet AND no idea where the "stream" [stream, heck, it was more like Niagara!] was going to go.)

That was my experience for the first several months, and while there are times now that I can almost hit a target  as well as I did with male self, they are the exception.  I do empty completely much easier as well and without straining.  Even if I have done a complete job of emptying out just before dilation, I usually need to go again after I have dilated although its not much.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!
