Your voice sounds androgynous, I think. In the first recording I'd gender it as an older female upon first listen but may change that if, say, we were talking over the phone, depending on what you said and how you said it. The next two are androgynous but a little more on the male side.

But. Compared to your natural not bad! Keep up the good work. Practice makes perfect!!

They are all of course very similar, but I actually thought the last (Before the end where you spoke naturally) was the best one even though you said that you felt like you weren't getting the pitch high enough.
The first to me I dunno if it's because I was looking for it, expecting it or what. But it felt more put on, the last sounded much more natural while still to me sounding feminine.

However I would agree with Abbyxo, it's absolutely an older woman. (Not like 70 or nothing XD) but if ya an older person then thats normal anyway! But I dunno, it sounds older than your natural voice.

Didn't wanna put a age on it but yea..... She didn't seem to worry about putting a number on it so if ya no where near 40 then blame her. But I would agree. 40s, female 40s. Thats what its sounding like atm.

I am 36 , so yeah, nowhere near 40 ::)

Sounds very androgynous to me, I think you could go either way with it depending on how you apply your inflection (which seems to be quite female). If you brought up your larynx just slightly it would very much tip the scales into undoubtedly female territory

Thanks for sharing :)

blame me ? hope its a joke .. if not, then i am offended by your quote

OP asked for opinion, I gave her my honest opinion .. and like i said, its a cis female voice in 40s .. its a compliment

Now now ladies we don't even know how the OP was hoping to be gendered- maybe sounding cis female at any age would not be a compliment ;)

Just kidding.

Diana- I think Blue Rabbit was just being snarky with you. It doesn't seem to me like she was trying to offend you.

Let's keep on topic, too! I'm curious to hear now nickikim responds to the comments, we still don't really know exactly what they were going for.

Nicki are you going for a female voice or andro? Because if andro I think you totally nailed it, but with more practice it could easily be in passable female territory

I'm totally going to be a liz lemon when I get older. I am kind of looking forward to it actually

Okay, sorry nickikim for hijacking your thread! I know we all still want to hear what you are going for or if you were just simply looking for feedback?

I think your voice is in the androgynous range, but tending toward female. Definitely NOT male.

You're brave to put it up there. I once had to "pass" as female over the phone after I had already dropped to a baritone, and I was terrified to speak. The fear definitely made a difference, in a bad way. So if you are self-conscious at all, you might be in for a pleasant surprise once you get more comfortable and have used the new voice every day for a while.

Ha yea, it was a joke, didn't mean to offend ya.

@Nickikim
So what do you think about what people have said so far? Are you happy with the stage your voice is at currently?

You're really getting the inflection down and your tonal range sounds totally natural.

If you stick with this range for a year, you're voice would probably be strong enough to bump it up a couple more notes. :)

Also this makes me happy to know I'm not the only one recording my voice like this... ^_^

Thanks for sharing and keep it up!

Thanks for listening, everyone.

I am quite happy if I sound like a woman my age, I need to spend more time practicing thanan I have been.
It`s weird really, I spent years trying to emulate voices like Lemmy and James Earle Jones , to fit in better as a guy, and now I have to work on sounding like myself.

I had given up on my voice for a few months , and just made those recordings out of the blue, and decided to come here to get some feedback from strangers. Thanks again everyone.
My old practice routine was to talk to myself on my commute to and from work, about an hour each way.
I picked up a few things from Candifla on Youtube, and Melanie Anne Phillips video, and a few others I forget now.
My early recordings sound like an exagerated gay guy, not what I wanted. Then I was playing with some sound editing software , audacity and discovered I could use it to generate tones. I created a 180-200hz warble and loaded it into an mp3 player, then with ear buds in I tuned my voice up by raising pitch until I could hear the tone harmonizing between my speech and my ears.  Then I used a crappy TTS to read a positive affirmations script to speak along with and mixed the two. I kept up with that until the christmas season last year, when I got super depressed and sort of gave up , on everything, sigh. I am starting to feel more positive now , so here I am with this.
