Well after exactly one year to the day from my 'uh-oh..." moment  I am clear to start HRT.  This coming monday.  So yay.

But I would like to hear your stories about your first pill.  Did you wait for a special day?   Have a ritual?  Neck that little biatch as fast as the chemist could hand it to you?

Body... meet brain.  Now follow her lead and there will be no more trouble, you dig?

Before walking out of the Pharmacy. Sure gave him his laugh for the day! :)

I wasn't as bold as Jessica, lol. Still took them promptly, though.

After I left the pharmacy with my pills I took them as soon as I got in my car. Swallowed my spiro and stuck an estradiol tab in my cheek.

I've pretty much felt the best I have in my entire life since then - there is no reason to wait for some special occasion - getting your hormones is a special occasion. Why delay something so great?

I get my lady juice via injections... i remember the first shot... I did not even mind the prick.. i swore i could feel the estrogen flowing out of the needle.. i was so excited to start my new life.
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

I switched to injections almost 3 weeks ago - I definitely prefer it to sublingual estrogen. I feel more stable, for sure, not to mention the much increased breast tenderness, hot itchyness, breast pain, etc. I'll be injecting myself again tomorrow.

For me, getting them *was* the special day!!

I do remember setting all of the bottles out on the counter when I got home that day and just looking at them for a few minutes before taking them.  Taking a deep breath and thinking "this is it".

It was such a good day!  :)

After getting my script to fill I raced to the nearest pharmacy and filled that thing out!

Once I got my pills I ran to my car and popped both in my mouth! Drove the rest of the way home so euphoric!

Yup. Didn't wait to go home before taking my pills. Had to take them on the drive home.

I was going to take them in the Pharmacy, then in the paring garage, than as soon as I got home. I thought for a few hours, 4 or 5, "are you really sure" yup.

October 3rd 2013, a yellow progynova pill.  Still have the photograph of it in my hand :)

It's a great feeling :)

NO DOSES
"What do you fear, lady?" he asked.
"A cage," she said. "To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them, and all chance of doing great deeds is gone beyond recall or desire."

I did the same thing, it took me a minute to take it all in before I took my first pill. From there the journey began! I felt like I was on a cloud for the rest of the week

I remember I had been putting off getting on HRT for about a year. Well the day passed when it was the 1 year point that I called the therapist for my first appointment, and since LSU never called me back to set up a dr appointment, I ordered online. About a week after that I went to the DMV to take my last male picture ID. I looked at it and said "This will be the last license I have where I look male". Well, that was true! A week later I got my drugs and popped em in as soon as I got them.

Here's a picture of me with my first E pill in my mouth under my tounge, taken on August 19th, 2011:

Oh, and for the record, 2 weeks later I called a private endo and set up an appointment to get on something I could get from a pharmacy ;)

I waited a day before taking it unlike all you others who couldn't wait 5 seconds.
Looked at the box that night and made it to lunch time before going WTF.

Must be something wrong with me.
Oh that's right I'm trans. :D

What a wonderful feeling such a little blue m&m can make.

Can't remember my first first time...that was well over twenty years ago. No doubt I was extremely impatient to get started.

My second first time was perhaps tempered by that experience, as keen as I was to get started I knew a couple hours wasn't going to make any difference in the grand scheme of things...waited until I got home and had dinner before popping the pill.
