So I've been hanging out recently in the deep waters of Susans MtF forum and I thought this thread can bring attention to some highlights of the past. Perhaps suggest a classic thread and an explanation of why it may impact others in ways not commonly seen around here. I'd rather avoid sob stories. I want to see uplifting stuff.

2006 is still recent and much of what we do hasn't really changed at all. The stories from these members are just as relevant then as they are now.

For me in particular was this members "Defining Moment" story captured in all its allegory beauty.

"One day I saw a small blue flower that had grown up through a crack in the sidewalk.  It barely caught my attention as I walked past it to the laundry room but for some reason stuck out in my mind...."

Sheesh, 2006. That was the year I was going to transition the first time until I chickened out... I would've been 23 starting HRT :(
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

I love it.

It always amazes me just how similar and familiar my story is to other people. Until recently I read other peoples' stories or talked with people about their journey and then I went and met someone at beginning of acceptance and transition and was just blown away again how similar they are to how I was.

Eight years ago I had no idea that there was a word "transgender",what Susan's was, transitioning is a real "option" and that I could actually be happy with life.
It's been a long eventful 8 years! :)
