I'm thinking about my appearance because I'm unabashedly vain.
I've been thinking about hair. I was considering cutting it shorter and then I was considering cutting it in an undercut because I barely ever pass because I look so effeminate and an undercut would look more masculine than my hair now. But then I looked in the mirror and realized that I prefer my hair the way it is. I like that aesthetic better. Not because it's more feminine, obviously, but... I'm sure how to describe it. It just suits me and what I want better. It's more metalhead and less punk I guess?
Then I started thinking about clothes because, while I was thinking about hair, I was also thinking of how it would fit the metalhead, viking, and pirate aesthetics. That got me wondering. The only viking-like things I plan on actually wearing are things integrated with more metalhead clothing than viking clothing, but I still kind of like the idea of integrating things. I used to dress like a pirate, but don't anymore. I suddenly got the urge to dress like a pirate again, but I'm no longer sure of how I would do that without looking too feminine, without wearing clothes too baggy, and stuff like that.

Do I tell my boss or not. I sooooo don't have to tell him now,  but as he is about to become my major source of income it would be good to know where I stand. The closer I get to work today the more nervous and undersided I become. Anyone have a coin and some Dutch courage?

As for me, I'm wondering just where humanity would be headed if it adapts to things like anthropogenic climate change, resource conservation, etc and continues on its present path. It's actually slightly scaring me how unfathomable I expect things will be since central constructs are increasingly being challenged in many places and scientific understanding is allowing more possibilities. I wish I could live to see what replaces them.

I got told that by everyone from close friends to total strangers for years before I actually had a kid, and afterward it simply escalated to assumptions that I would want more kids. There doesn't seem to be a framework available for people to conceptualize the idea of being a human and not (as the default setting) wanting to have/make more humans. And for some reason that topic usually has no more social barriers than talking about the weather.

Man I wish there was that framework for that.  Now that I think about it, it seems like it should be some consideration of the other person when discussing kids due to these various barriers. 



I'm thinking that I hope my nephew isn't getting sick.

The other day a woman called me a "lady." I wasn't offended or even insecure...I just...I am honestly confused. =/ I had a beard shadow and was wearing shorts and a T shirt, showing my hairy body, my voice is always taken for male on the phone, I am seen as male in all my social groups without question, and I can't even fathom how or why she thought I was a lady.

Of course me being me I stared in the mirror for a while trying to figure it out. I think she must have been visually impaired, and went off my height (I was next to a guy a foot taller than me) and perhaps my inflection, as I tend to speak more effeminately when I am working with my clients because I have to use my gentle voice lol.

I wonder if I have more crushes, on average, than most people, not including celeb crushes. I've considered trying to make a list...because I feel like there are too many.

2002-2003: grade 8 English teacher
2005: Grade 10 English teacher (haha yes I apparently love the English teachers)
2005-2007: Best friend.
2007: The "local lesbian" at school lol.
2007: 2 coworkers at the grocery store.
2007-2011: my ex
2008-2009: one of my professors.
2010: classmate in research class.
2011: PhD student in my department.
2012-2014: my luuuurve <3
2012: one of my students (so wrong)
2013: another one of my students (SO SO wrong). Oh wait no, there were two that year in different groups.

I feel like there are some missing here. But this is an offhand list of the women (well, one is no longer a woman and that's what killed the crush...) who have completely knocked the breath out of me at some point or another.

I'm feeling better today. What triggered my depression yesterday was that I was planning to take a trip with a few people and it fell through. Then I did what I always end up doing. Taking something like this and it turning it inward on myself. Thinking that I'm just some pathetic loser since I can not go anywhere unless someone helps out since I can't drive. It just made me feel worthless.

I like you and don't think you're a loser at all.  You're a survivor like a lot of the ladies here and should be applauded.

You're also one of the few people who has ever heard of Masters of Reality, so you get major points from me.
