Binders and pain.

At first I thought I just pulled something in my back but it's been continuous pain for a couple months now. It's worse if my back flexes does anyone else have this or hear of it. I know it has to be from binding. When it first started I was shooting archery and it just never went away

I'd head to a doctors and ask. It sounds like you might have injured a muscle and or ligament and possibly hasn't healed properly? I'm no dr and therefore can't say for sure on anything. Best to get checked

I known I should get checked. I probably should've a long time ago I'm just afraid they're gonna tell me to stop binding which would suck because I have no chance of top surgery any time soon.

It's better to be safe than sorry. I went about binding the wrong way and it got to the point where I couldn't bind for more than 15 minutes without feeling dizzy or in pain and I made myself stop binding for several months.

I know it sucks, but I will echo what the others said. The sooner you deal with it the more quickly it will heal. I understand the fear about not being able to bind, but if you deal with it now, you'll have more control over treatment options than later.

I had bad pain in my lower back from binding because it made my spine bend out of shape, and I've been seeing a chiropractor twice a week for a few months, now not only is the pain gone but it actually doesn't hurt at all to bind for the first time ever and I've been binding all the time now. If you have pain you should get it checked out.

Are you wearing too small of a binder?  If anyone is binding so tightly that it's screwing up their spine, then that's just going overboard.  Binders are only supposed to squish your "tissue" flat, not compress your torso.

Not according to the measurements on the underworks chart it wasn't too small. I did go up a size anyway though cause it just didn't seem right. It was a lot better at first and didn't hurt as much. But now it does I don't know if its just from continuing to bind that's making it do that.

Do you give yourself "binder breaks" daily?

No I don't sleep in it and yeah I only have to wear it every couple days. Maybe 3 times a week.

I thought I picked the right size too, but it is a little bit confusing. For one thing, the sizing on the Tri-top is a little smaller than for some other binders. I've remeasured myself several times, and I think I was too far over on the high end and should definitely have gone a size up. I've been told they always come tighter and stretch over time, but better safe than sorry.

After about a month maybe a little less after that started happening I did end up getting a size bigger. But the bigger size didn't really make a difference. There's also not really a difference when I'm wearing it and not wearing it, it pretty much always just feels the same.

It seems like when you were shooting archery you did something to yourself. Since it's been going on this long you should probably see the doctor. Or try physical therapy.

This is what I was thinking too. It might not be the binder at all and just a sports injury.  I'd get it checked out if you can.

Yes, I agree you should see a doctor. Maybe you cracked a rib or pinched a nerve. I cracked a rib doing something rather simple a while back and it hurt for months.

I don't know if I mentioned this or if this part matters but the majority of the pain is into right shoulder blade area.

Well, I'd probably cross the rib out then. Possibly rotator cuff or spacula injury?
