I am struggling with middle-age weight gain for the first time in my life due to an injury.

It's psychologically debillitating.

Anybody ever feel frustrated or angry about their fat quotient?

For a former anorexic, I don't whether to be angry or proud?

Poll is anonymous. Dig in.

Wow 50 pounds since october I only lost 20 pounds.
You probably lost a lot of muscle mass too, not so good.
Don't reduce you weight too much Tink.

I feel fatter than I am... I've been told I'm fairly slim, but meh~ I guess I'm a normal healthy weight, but I used to be visibly overweight. Self-consciousness about my weight has followed me into my healthier days.

I also only eat maybe half as much as I once did, and some of the greasy, fatty foods I used to eat now make me queasy. Can't say that I really miss them either.

Right now I feel alittle fat...  I have alittle belly fat where there was none before... and it sucks... Overall I look good accept for that one spot... and that one spot took me from wearing sizes 3-5 to wearing sizes 5-7....  Its just really frustrating when you have to aquire new cloths because of a few stupid inches  :(

I work on Body Mass Index (BMI)

That way I am not fat, just to short for my current weight. If I grow 6 inches I will be fine, so I am working on that!

QuoteWho's "Twiggy"?

Someone is itching for a compliment. Or are you auditioning to be my padawan? Come over to the dark side Kiera. I will show the way to power and we will rule this universe. Ah hahahah!

Damn girl. GID ain't your biggest problem if YOU think you look fat. No way.

QuoteThank you Keira.  Yeah, I shouldn't do what I do, but I can't help it.  I am getting used to not eating.  Probably my stomach is shrinking or something...anyway...

Well, part of the reason is obvious, but you better PM me if this gets outta hand. You know what happened to me. Don't be like me.

What would 129lbs with a height of 5'9" qualify as?

I often feel fat.  Which is odd.  I'm at the extreme low-end of healthy (according to the BMI), bordering on underweight and I often feel obese.

That's Twiggy. Obviously, umm, thin and unless you've got a very thin frame like she had (look at the size of her minuscule kneecaps, her frame was very light) its a look impossible to emulate in a healthy way (her nickname comes from her early teenage years so she does not look anorexic like current models that try to emulate her). Notice that even though she's thin, she doesn't look really bony, there's still some fat on her.

Tay, that's how it starts. Once it gathers steam, there is no stopping it. If this continues, please talk to someone. It almost killed me. Seriously. Do not fool around with that disease.

I just finished it, but next time, I will follow your advice.  for chocolate is a sacred sacrament and be must eaten as often as we take in oxygen.

...and that's very dangerous indeed.  I'm 5'7''.  I look thin but nothing like the above picture.  IOW, no one can tell that I'm an anorexic yet.  >:D

I know.  And I do eat.  Honestly.  I am naturally thin.  I don't mess with my diet to be this thin.  I eat when I'm hungry, which is actually quite often.

The trouble is that my mother spent years telling me (despite my doctor saying I was fine) that if I kept eating the way I did when I was a kid, that when I went away to school, I'd become fat.  I spend a lot of time pinching myself looking for body fat.  Which even as I am doing it, it occurs to me that I shouldn't...

I am a bit podgy. When I finished puberty my body decided that instead of all the massive amounts of energy that went into a impressive growth spurt, leading me from shortest in the class to average, it would bulk me out some, and some more, and some more. I reached fairly ugly proportions, I already have a small head and a large frame, this increased till it looked like it was perched there. I have still slimmed down some and have to wear belts.  :D  I hope that I will not put it on again, because I prefer being slimmer. Though I am actually getting heavy because I am developing a few hefty, arm, back and leg muscles. I like these. They are fun and useful. If I could get a flat tummy, a small waist and a smooth and soft face, it would be ace.

But at the moment I feel fat, but not as fat as I used to be.

You need to have someone pinch you every time you pinch yourself. This will stop you.

Only at certain times and in certain locations, hon.  And by certain people.  Then I LOVE it.

Girl, you better not joke about that. I know someone that would not be happy if something happened to you.
