Has anyone here undergone a radical prostatectomy (having had the prostate removed) prior to HRT?  Four years ago I had prostate cancer and had this procedure done, I have psa tests done each year which are always at zero. Two of the end results of this surgery is no more ejaculation (it is routed through the bladder) and lower libido.  Mine is almost nonexistent without cialis (which I dont like) so add HRT to the mix and I'm not sure what I can expect.  Just maybe it will be a good thing but I'm not sure.
P.S. This question is not to help me decide whether or not to start HRT because I am, it is more about if there is some unforeseen thing ahead.

Thanks, Dani

   Hi Dani,
I have not met anyone whom has had the procedure.Myself the numbers were starting to climb and I was getting bph. After 5 months on hrt I can do a great stream again. The HRT (spiro and E-patch) does lower the libido and changes how you orgasm ( to the better in most people)to a more female type but I was there well before starting hrt because of some other issues.Hrt does seem to help the mind and body,in my case it seems to be the key thing that was missing all my life.I lost all my joint pain ,am a lot happier, feel 30 years younger, smile all the time, all the changes for me have been very positive .If you need help to get up before HRT you will most definately need it after HRT  :)  Patty

Prostate does not contribute to libido, only to ejaculate. Sex hormones affect libido and overall mood, stress levels, psychological state. Maybe, the removal of the prostate affected you psychologically and indirectly affected your libido.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

  Hi Dani,
I just finished speaking with a friend who had the same thing done as you, he did keep his testicles. He also has the same problem and solution as you and was told he would most likely not get an erection without help.It has to do with nerve damage from proceedure. With a little help he does fine as you seem to. Spiro will shrink you, there is plenty of info here on what happens just do a search.
