I think this video nailed it.  It has a ton of relevance to transsexuals in general and is a huge aspect of motivation for me.

Closets are a bitch, we all at one time or another were in one.

Excellent talk, especially about emphasizing with others, realizing everyone has a closet and hard is not relative, hard is hard.

I'm coming out to a handful of people this summer (already out to my partner and our kids - went well and was a while ago) so it was a good refresher. The emphasizing with others part though is my activism.  Love hearing others speak about it too.

Great find!
Thank you!
My closet door is slightly opened.
Light is coming in.

Thanks for the post, I love Ted Talks but hadn't seen that one. I especially liked the empathy part too, of doing your part to understand that people who mess up while trying to be supportive of you deserve gratitude instead of derision for falling short.

I remember watching this video a few months ago.  It was really good and makes great points about the pressure of hiding something.  The more closer I get to finalizing my transition, at least the social basis of it by going full time, the more I realize how damn hard this all really is.  Oddly enough, I care more about the opinions of strangers than I do my friends and family (though I care a great deal about acceptance/rejection in that area as well).  In any case, I think the video makes a great point and helps us empathize and relate with others going through different struggles.
