You have to upload pics to a website then url link them in a thread here to work. You can add a profile pic after 15 posts.
I look forward to seeing what you look like. :)

I think I look ok in my photo, I always see a fat guy standing in the mirror when I see myself. But I think he will fade away after some time on hormones.

I started hormones a few weeks before my twentieth birth day and I am 23 now.

Only hormones, weight loss, and laser involved in this along with a tad bit of make up.
We're born naked, and the rest is drag.

 WOW!! congratulations!

What's it like three years in for you??

Tammy M

You are fortunate to start at this age.  I didn't start until age 47 and I have had pretty good results, I can only imagine how it would have been if I had started 20 or even 30 years younger.  You are going to be amazed..:)

thanks for the very nice replies everyone makes me feel alot better ive decided im going to go private instead of the NHS since ive been told the waiting list for referrals is only upto may 2013 so ive got awile to wait so i fort about seeing dr curtis in london private gender and hair has anyone been to see dr curtis before and can tell me how there experience was like because im going to be getting in touch with them on thursday at my local support group i know this is something that takes time but i fort if i see a private clinic then i dont have to do some of the NHS guidelines like having to be dressing and presenting as female for atleast 3 months before any hormones are prescribed plus ill feel alot better knowing im paying for it and getting the best care. dont mean to put anyone down that is going through the NHS system its not for everyone but i know alot of people cant afford the money for private and i know when i do pay for the therapy, voice, hair removal, hormones, surgery im gonna be out of pocket alot so i cant update my wardrobe or go out for drinks bit of a bummer but its what i feel is the better option for me.

hope you all had an amazing day and you are all feeling happy <3

I was there on Tuesday for a check up. You just get an appointment within like 2 weeks or so then wait 3 months, see a psychologist, get a blood test, go for a second appointment and get HRT.

It is super easy and all about doing it however you want to. He doesn't give you a hard time about anything really.

'hope I don't get flamed by the older girls on here, but I am sooo envious of all the 20-somethings that are starting their transition as such a young age.  HRT will make some terrific changes much faster than on us older girls (I'm 55), skeletal changes for you are the best things, as we're already "set in concrete"  :)  *sigh*   I wish I could set the "way back machine" for 30-40yrs ago so I could have fought for, and begun this journey, knowing what I know now.

I really am happy for you girls beginning now, Alexis, HoneyBunny, you look amazing!  Kyra, Ronnie, you also!  Tammy, you look terrific!  As I'm starting script-based 'mones next week, (already got some nice boobs from.. um.. non-drug-based.. stuff) I will be along shortly, but don't wait up for me  =)

just booked my first appointment with dr. Richard Curtis's gender clinic in London but dr. Curtis was on leave till june/july so they have given me an appointment with one of his fellow workers dr. james caspian till dr. Curtis comes back  my appointment is in may so thats a lot better than having to wait for the NHS which i most likely won't have been seen till 2015 by London charing cross so i decided to go private i sorted it all out at my support group drop in centre yesterday It feels good to think I'm getting somewhere but for people who have already been to see dr. james caspian.

What is he like? and what are the rules of the clinic and what i should say/ask at my first appointment any information will be greatly appreciated

Dr Caspian is a psychotherapist or something. He is a nice guy and didn't give me any trouble, I had to see him because I had not seen any psychologists or anything in a while so they wanted to make sure I am psychologically sound. Just tell him about how you feel about stuff, he is nice and easy to talk to so don't worry about it!

i received my letter today from the appointment with james caspian which i fort the appointment went very well i went in black skinny jeans an androgynous t.shirt and female van shoes and had my make-up on and had to wear a hat because of my hair length i took my mum with me but to be honest i didn't feel comfortable sitting in a room talking with james caspian because its the first time I've ever spoke about being transgendered in such depth but i know she needed to come i have had some previous spells with mental health but I'm not on any prescribed medication because since coming out i haven't had any problems and my therapist doesn't believe i need them anymore as i am stable enough all in all the trip cost me £100 for travel and £120 for the appointment but after receiving my letter today it is underlined in the letter as saying "regretfully the london gender clinic does not have the necessary resources to give the level of care sufficient to my need needs so would recommend the i continues to see my phycosexual therapist and to pursue my referral to the NHS gender identity clinic". so i don't know why they have turned me to if thats the right word for it but i paid to go private and now they have told me to go back to the NHS

That really sucks D:

Did the letter say why? If not I would ask them.
  •

Ronnie

No it didn't I've looked through it and I can only think maybe they think I'm joking or because of my mental health :(
