That's pretty harrowing!  I think I would have created a shrine to that handgun, a shrine where I could take pause every morning for the rest of my life and just give thanks for one more day.

I do still have the bullet/shell. I made a glass frame for it and it's hung on my wall in my bathroom. I keep it as a reminder of my faith in God, and that miracles do still happen in this world. It's also a reminder of where I've been, and how far I've come to get to where I am now.

Since beginning hrt and my full transformation I no longer have those dark thoughts. After all, I'm finally seeing the girl I've always been looking back at me in the mirror. I feel good about myself and am happy for the first time since I was a young child. I plan to see this through to the other side where lies for me a normal life as the woman I am both inside and out.
