A fetish.

Isn't it called wanting to look beautiful? What does identifying or not as female have anything to do with it?

What kind of fetish? There is more than one definition for the word fetish.
Sorry that was a bad joke. But seriously if you don't feel like your a woman on the inside transitioning will ruin your life.

Maybe you're right. Maybe being beautiful can be a gender neutral concept.

Yes he does but he's just doing that for entertainment purposes.

Personally I have no desire to dress in traditionally women's clothing. It's only the face and facial hair I'm worried about. Am I just some sort of narcissist for wanting a beautiful face like Andrej's?

I Thought it was called vanity? oh wait.. isn't that when you think you already are?

anyway their are things you can do, without transition.

Electro? clothes? Hair? Make up? Skin lotions?

but beautiful is gender neutral, its just women tend to tick a lot more boxes a lot more often. a gender stereo type, if something exists in one more then the other then its for that gender (my ars)

And social tolerance is a factor, society often diminishes a males man status the more beautiful he is, and diminishes a females woman status the less beautiful she is. And so both try to work away from or towards this.

genetic factor, if men with currently considered feminine looks were the preferred choice of women, and visa versa I'm sure Im sure things would flip in time. of course there would be a minimum a females hips could reduce to.

but yeah, any human attribute is for anyone.

If you want to look beautiful, then all that means is you want to look beautiful.

And for professional reasons, but either way, so what?

And why are we talking about this guy? I don't really know who he is?

Being vain or narcissistic :P
By definition beautiful is something that possess beauty, or pleasing to the senses.  There is nothing overtly masculine or feminine to the word,  yet today's society has deemed it an adjective only women can have. Anything in the world can be beautiful it is only a matter of one's perspective

It could also be construed as an innate desire to live up to someone else's expectations. That's really a question you should be asking a psychologist because they can help you dig deeper to find out the reasons why you feel that way. Or, maybe you already know? Does the idea of being beautiful turn you on sexually, or in some other way? Does it give you a sense of empowerment? Are there aspects of your personality that can only be expressed by being what you consider beautiful?

As a point of reference, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some women are beautiful, but some men are, too, in my opinion. One person's idea of beauty may not be that of another.

Just my $.02

There are people on this site that don't feel like a woman on the inside that have transitioned and are happy.  It's probably not a good idea to tell people whether they should transition or not.

Because it's relevant to the topic. He is an example.

Let us not bicker please

Was just going to say that, thanks Cindy

This is Andrej Pejic, definitely beautiful and definitely androgynous

I have to agree with the others, beautiful is not necessarily about gender as much as it is just pleasing to the eye. In Andrej's case I think it is because they tend to visually look more female- but I've definitely seen my fair share of beautiful males, too.

There is no possible way I could agree LESS with this statement. I'd even go so far as to say it is dangerous in its inaccuracy.

I never felt like a woman inside. Still don't. Yet I'm 11 months into living full time. It hasn't ruined my life. In fact, I've never been happier and the thought of going back to presenting male is horrible.

I delayed addressing my gender issues for many decades because I heard statements like the one above.

I now know there is a HUGE VARIETY in the way we experience being transgender, but there still is a lot of misinformation out there that misleads people who are trying to understand what is going on with them.
