Hey all,

I'm Sean, mid-age guy new to the site. This is my first post and I'm learning the ropes as I go. I'm a standard "gender dysphoric", assigned female at birth, but realizing at a very young age that wasn't my real gender. When I was young it was a huge deal requiring lots of money (that few of us had) to transition, and now that I'm older I have health conditions that prevent me from doing so. So I strive to live with a lot of fun and hope, and on the surface I mostly make it. But I've also spent a lot of time and energy - in my current and past life - trying to dissociate from the realities of my dysphoria, and when I don't make it in that I crash hard. So I'm trying to find ways to support myself, live better and happier, with who I am, despite what I cannot do. And that's why I started looking on the internet for resources where I can learn from others and maybe feel better about myself, as locally there don't seem to be any.

Since I can't medically transition, perhaps I shouldn't be here, though? I know most people (at least from appearances on the internet) are able to do so, and that's where most people's thoughts and plans are. So if I'm not a good "fit" here, please let me know. Don't want to crash anyone's party  ;D

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Hi Sean, welcome to Susan's.

Have no fear of whether or not you belong here. This is a site for all who struggle, not just people who can or will transition. You will find some who can not for various reasons and some who choose not to. You are quite welcome here on that front.

It is always good to see new people and there is a wealth of information here for non transitioning people as well as people who have found comfort in less than total transition.

I hope to see more of you around the site.
