Read your post I quoted, you did say Medicare.  I get the two switched all the time, but, yeah Medicaid is for seniors, but Medicare covers SRS now.
well mine is covered through the adminstration of human services due to my income. from what i hear that is medicare, which would cover SRS if i decide to do it

In reverse, medicare is seniors, medicaid is for low income.

"While Medicare is a federal government-sponsored healthcare program primarily for seniors, Medicaid is for low-income families and is managed by both the state and federal governments. Medicare and Medicaid differ in terms of who they cover, how they are funded and governed. "

^how i always remember it is this: We care for the elderly and we aid the poor.

Can't wait until it's covered under medicaid.

Medicare (yes actually Medicare and not medicaid, though I have both due to being disabled from birth) paid for the majority of my top surgery that was done in January this year. Just in case anyone was wondering if it really happens. Still was expensive of course given the nursing and specialized care I needed because of my disability. Did not read link, but got statements for coverage from Medicare as usual with "breast procedure" listed and the entire amount shown as covered, with me owing nothing. The code used was the usual one for FTM top surgery/chest reconstruction. At least, as far as I can tell.

And yet Medicare still is refusing to pay for my hormones prescription, something which should have been covered from the start... Go figure.

The ruling said it only covered surgery, not anything else.

Oh wow this is amazing! Overdue yes but to see it finally happen :)! Curious though I've already paid for my surgery for Dr Suporn this Nov will I now be able to claim coverage or is it too late seeing as I've already paid for it and everything?

In australia btw.

And irrelevant in Australia; this is a US Medicare ruling. Also, Medicare doesn't cover health care received in other countries, except for a few very limited exceptions.

Duh, I'm an idiot!  Why can't I get these two straight in my head!?  Thanks KAT for straightening me out

I hope since HHS has ended the exclusion for seniors, that they will expand that decision to Medicaid users.  I have seen indications this will happen but so far it hasn't.  Sorry for getting this wrong.
