Hey guys,

For the last I wanna say straight month now I've stopped shaving my face and just started letting all the peach fuzz start to grow out. It's noticeable now if you're close to me and I'm in a good light setting. I have some patches of darker hair along my jaw line near my side burns and a few small spots around my chin but everything else is still pretty light colored.

I'm curious if anyone has experienced letting the light hair grow and then notice that it's turning darker? I'm on the fence as to whether I should shave and see if more comes in darker or just let it be for now and see if the light hair gets darker on its own.
I noticed that the lightish hair on my legs, arms and stomach all became a lot darker (without me shaving any of it these past 4 months) so I'm curious if the facial hair would just do the same.

Hope I phrased this right haha

Yes - definitely, I have kept my beard for nearly 2 years now, and without shaving there is a little bit (under bottom lip) which has become noticeably darker - particularly over the past few months even though I'm 2 years + on T now.

Yes. I've been letting my chin hair grow for a little over a month now and a lot more of it is starting to darken. It's still mainly blond but it seems to be slowly getting more dark hairs.

That's how mine started.  It just came in longer and light-coloured but eventually got coarse and darkened.

Ah this is all good to hear. I really didn't want to shave anything off but was also concerned this would all stay peach fuzz if I didn't lol.
Thanks for the input guys!

Try beard dye. Light brown should be dark enough for you, and it won't be too noticeable if you get it on your skin. I used to dye my beard before it started coming in dark on its own. Put the dye on for just a few minutes, wash it off, and do it again. It may take a few tries. If you do it multiple times, it makes it less likely to stain your skin, and you have a better chance of getting full coverage.

Shaving doesn't affect hair growth at all. It's a common myth that it causes hair to grow in thicker. Short hairs left behind from shaving will simply feel stiffer and stubbly for a while until they've grown out. Then they will feel softer.

Good idea Declan, I'd thought about trying dye but was worried about dying my skin.

How long would you say that took?

I would say that I noticed the light fuzz turning black around month 3-4.  By month 5 it was coarser and darker.  By the end of 12 months it was full beard hairs.

I'm just a bit over the 4 month and have a few dark course areas but about 80% or so is still light, hoping it turns in the next couple months XD It's getting fairly long lol

I think I have noticed some darkening in my facial hair if I go a long time without shaving, but I feel like it's easier to be read as my own age when I shave. Peach-fuzzy beard still looks and feels incredible to me when it's just me I'm caring about.

Little over a year and a half on T--
Shaving once or twice a week, I still don't get any particularly dark hair except on my upper lip (which is thin and wispy). Everywhere else, jaw mostly, is dark blonde... and thicker.

Warning on the hair dye (yes, I used it a LOT, LOL)

Don't do it the day you need to go somewhere.  It *will * stain your skin, even if you're careful.  Alcohol helps get it off, but time (24 hrs +) plus vigorous rubbing will get it off.

Last time I did it was a day or so before getting my DL picture taken.  For some reason my 'stache tends to white out in pictures and make it look like I only have a chin strap (which I hate).  So I used the dye to darken it up for the picture and it came out great.  But I did it to help it look a bit fuller when it was coming in and lopsided.

I never tried it on peach fuzz, though.

From my experience, it only stains if you leave it on for more than a few minutes. When I needed to dye my beard, I had to reapply it four or five times or risk staining my skin. Even when I use dark brown, it doesn't stain as long as I apply it with several short sessions, and I'm not careful at all about getting it on my skin.
