Judge Rules Conversion Therapists Can Be Sued For Consumer Fraud

Bariso Jr. has refused to dismiss a first of its kind lawsuit seeking damages against the conversion therapists of Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing, (JONAH).
The Southern Poverty Law Center brought the suit on behalf of four young men, Michael Ferguson, Sheldon Bruck, and Benjamin Unger and Chaim Levin, (photo above) who claim JONAH, its founder, Arthur Goldberg, and counselor Alan Downing violated New Jersey's Consumer Fraud Act when it provided conversion therapy claiming to cure patients of being gay. JONAH filed a motion for summary judgement asking the court to dismiss the suit, but on Friday, Judge Bariso ruled if the plaintiffs can prove their claim, JONAH and the individual therapists could be liable for damages.
