So a female friend and workout buddy commented that my breasts were adolescent in that they just stick straight out and are really perky, and that she remembers when "they pointed forward" herself. This got me thinking, clearly over time breasts go from this to filling out more and instead of being sort of perky and spongy to the touch they are a bit more flaccid and feel softer to the touch.

Now, my question is, how long until my breasts will feel like that to the touch? Not so tight and spongy but more soft and pillowy. I know I am making up words here but, I seem to lack adequate vocabulary to express the sort of thing I mean. Any of us who had intimate relations with women but are still growing rapidly on HRT will probably understand what I mean about the difference in feel.

So how many months on HRT till the feel of them changed to the touch? Related after this happens how far along the overall breast growth were you?

Took mine a little over a year to start taking real boob shape as opposed to pyramids, and didn't start to feel like actual.. you know.. handful-type real boobs until a couple months after I started P in January

Right now, they are pretty much full on boobs. The nipples still look like the puffy nipples lots of MTFs get, but the breast shape and feel is good.

Yes, I think P helps in that respect. Same here.

Sometime next month I start P at least on a tentative basis so I will see I suppose.  I am in no rush, not like I expect anyone to be fondling those things (okay aside from myself :) )

I would be interested to know any exacts of how far along with HRT people were when this occurred but since it seems to be a gradual change lots of the people I talked to didn't really notice when it happened.

When we examine developing breasts we classify the development using the Tanner stages. It sounds like you are in Tanner III where the breasts are conical in shape and have the 'spongy' and 'tight' feeling you mention. In Tanner IV your breasts will have become larger and a bit softer, and your areolae and nipples will form a puffy little mound above your breast tissue and you'll have the puffy nipples you mention many MTFs getting. You may end up stuck in Tanner IV. From what I've read it seems like a lot of MTFs develop to Tanner IV and stop there without making it to Tanner V without BA. There are though many MTFs who reach Tanner V without surgery and if you're one of those then you'll notice your breasts will have expanded and rounded even more from Tanner IV and your areolae and nipples will no longer form a little mound on the breasts. Instead it will only be your nipples that stick out when you've reached Tanner V.

As far as how long it will take for you to progress to Tanner IV and then possibly V. I don't really know. All of us develop at slightly different rates with growth spurts at different times. I started developing pretty young but never reached Tanner V breasts thanks to my CAIS. I am kind of in limbo between IV and V. My breasts are large (F cups) but my nipples and areolae form the mound on my breasts seen in Tanner IV (puffy nips). So I am in between. I am also only Tanner II downstairs because I have only a little bit of very fine pubic hair. I am an example of a cis woman with puffy nips, but my breasts are definitely soft and pillowy--and my boyfriend absolutely loves my puffy nips!  >:-)

I hope this helped. :)

I'm definitely tanner IV, then :). They show no sign of slowing in growth so hopefully I get V eventually

Mine went from III to IV a few months after starting progesterone... They're firm when on it, but get fluffier/softer when off. (I cycled it 3weeks on/one week off for the first 6 months).

At this point, I'm thinking I may have to start lactating to get to V...the are ways of doing this without pregnancy.

...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

That's where I'm at. Progesterone got me to this stage. My breasts are round too thanks to P. :)

Maybe because you don't have enough progesterone in your body? Something perhaps to discuss with your doctor...

Yep this is why I'm considering to induce lactation as well. I just want to reach the final stage already since I know I'm never going to get pregnant and mine are at 4 as well. So I think the timing is right but I know I'm still developing. So I'm not quite sure if I should wait longer or not. Either way I'll be talking to my endo about it on monday to see what she thinks. I've been on estrogen and P for two years now.

Mine actually seemed to cycle through the stages or whatever several times... perky and hard for a few weeks, then soft and pillowy, then back to projecting and firm. I'm at a bit over 4 years HRT now and they seem to be *mostly* settling down into soft and pillowy, though some of that is the fat being layered on top of the firm breast tissue (so in other words, when I touch them, even when they're perky/firm there's some softness of fat cushion on top).

I do recall the "separate mound of nipple and areolae" stage being always temporary, and it hasn't been like that in at least a couple years now.
