I'm 4 days post-op. Since being discharged from the hospital yesterday, I've had an almost constant headache. My temperature has be higher than usual (99.x Fahrenheit), but I don't know if the headache is from that. Is it possible that it has to do with no hormones at all in my system (no E for past 5 weeks, and all sources of T removed)? I asked about it and no one appeared concerned. The doctor's reaction was to OK acetaminophen for me if I needed it.

Has anyone else had this post-op?

It could, but I'd guess it's one of the pills they put you on post-op.
I have had more headaches on T (and post-T) but I think they're estrogen deprival-related.
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Are you sure you are well hydrated? As weird as it sounds I used to have headaches fairly often, then I started drinking more water and only 1 soda a day max, and the headaches largely went away.

Don't think it was a hydration issue - I'm getting plenty of water.

When I woke up today, it was gone. Hopefully it will stay away. One of the other people where I'm staying suggested it might be anesthetic that hasn't yet washed out of my system.

Hormone changes are actually super likely to cause headaches in folks who are prone to that - a lot of cis women get headaches with the hormone shifts of their cycle. Since I'm a chronic migraine and headache sufferer, the whole post-op period was kind of unpleasant.

Also congrats on the surgery, Suzi! I hope your recovery is speedy and easy.

I had headache problems for about a week after surgery, and I was back on my estrogen the morning after my surgery.  We did narrow mine down to basically an anesthetic hangover from the time I was under, along with the morphine I had during the first night. I had not been off my E since I normally take half of what my surgeon recommended for pre-surgery (which is a helluva drop for some girls) but I had been off of my Spiro for two weeks even though for me it is strictly a diuretic for hypertension and my water balance was way off until I had been back on it for two weeks post.  Thus, my blood pressure was higher that I was used to, but was still in OK territory.  It also did nothing good for my headaches.  Another problem a friend of mine (at same hospital) had was from the oxygen nosepiece.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!
