Oh dear, so this is how we learn...

The mortifying experiences are the ones we learn from most.

I was out and about today, looking through some tops in a shop the  two women across the table doing the same, when I heard one of the women opposite me say in reply to something the other said 'I was going to say anything either, but I couldn't control myself'.

Ok, I thought, I've been clocked, never mind I'm having fun, who cares.

I went to the next shop, looking for a top again, and the assistant comes up and says 'why don't you hold it up in front of the mirror?'.  I can see it's too small so I say no thank you and go off to the loo.

When I look in the mirror I can see that my under camisole is way down and the red lace (why did I choose that one??) on my bra is showing right through my top.

Pretty embarrassing!

So,  one more thing on my checklist of things to look at before I leave the house :D

And another reason why we need to use the bathroom with confidence.  There's always a big mirror there... :)

Anything that you've done that you look back on with embarrassment?

I shall confess to walking out of the loo with the back of my skirt caught in my knickers. But don't tell anyone :embarrassed:
Another woman saw me and told me. I thought I felt a draught!

That's on my list too! Thankfully the lining in the skirt is the worst I've done on that one :D

I'm struck by how much women look out for each other.  The girl in the second shop was really doing her absolute best to help me out within the limits of polite Japanese communication patterns :)

That's another nail hit squarely on the head by Cindy.
When I was 16 & on a Xmas work pub crawl I got caught out by a pub game that resulted in 4 pints of cider being dumped in my crotch area, in my frunked state I decided to wrap toilet roll around my wet underwear instead of binning it & spent the next few hours with a 2 ft long toilet roll tail because no-one told me.

If any of my female friends spot the slightest thing out of place they'll whisper in my ear that it needs correcting, the sisterhood rocks!!

Every time I've accidentally walked out of the house without my wig or hat (I have a big old bald spot that would let neighbors clock me, who up until now had no idea).

Several times spent an entire day without face makeup allowing my beard shadow to telegraph my identity like a beacon.

And of course, all the times I ended up in the totally wrong clothing department because female clothing sizes all seem to follow some sort of code.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I have gone to work several times (in guy mode) without totally removing eyeliner from the day before (I tend to be very ADD the first thing in the morning when I'm getting ready for work). Each time I was lucky enough to catch it and clean it off before anyone saw it.

In girl mode I have gone out in shorts or capris only to discover later that my legs really could have used a shave.

Many times I have left the house in the morning without doing some part of my morning routine.

Just have to throw this comic into the mix because it's pretty much the same thing.

Sometimes we really do just need to chill out. :)

Doesn't it just! :)

Suzi, so many things to remember eh? That's why I have a list. And I still forget.

And Eva, I'm definitely like you in the morning, so much so that I try to make it a habit to get everything ready the night before for anything I'm doing.  If I don't I'm sure to forget.  And I still do :D

Is there a pattern developing here?? ;)

Short skirt without tap pants or a split slip. Only had to do that once- BIG no-no.
