Last night, NBC's reality competition show America's Got Talent ended its final audition episode with a musical performance from an 84-year-old man singing an original song about not wanting to date a woman because she had "male genitalia," and which included lyrics like "there's always some failure, always some flaw." As the song's "joke" dawned on the audience and judges, they erupted in laughter and the contestant received nothing but praise from the judges, who unanimously voted him onto the next round.

It's hard to imagine they would have said the same things if an actual transgender woman had been seated next to them on that panel.

"Choosing to be true to one's self — despite challenges that may come with the journey — is an integral part of realizing not just one's own potential, but of realizing the true nature of our collective human spirit. This spirit is what makes us who we are, and by following that spirit as it manifests outwardly, and inwardly, you are benefiting us all." -Andrew WK

God, I'm glad I got away from that show last season.

This would have torn me up.

Meh..it justifies my hatred for people in general. Worthless piece of crap.

I don't watch that sort of garbage, anyway.

Yay!  More news that makes me feel I would be better off dead instead of trans...

People just suck sometimes.

It doesn't take much to justify being a misanthrope, really. Pretty much all you need to do is step outside into society. That should be enough to convince anyone.

Or maybe that's just Alabama.

Well, I don't hate everybody, but sometimes, it's really difficult to resist the urge to just blow up at society in general. I suppose that's what GTA is for.  :D

I don't hate people in general....but I can say I really hate Alabama. I only lived there for a few months, but when I briefly went there last year for work, I was reminded that living there for a few months was a few months too many.

I am really speechless about this.. So glad I stopped watching this show after they kicked Lindsey Stirling off.... But still I have no comment on it besides it being a disgusting song.

This is so sad I wish there was a teansexual in the audience that would have booed him or between the judges to press the X

I couldn't agree more, I wish I could have given the judges a piece of my mind (or the mind of someone more eloquent) then walked out of the studio whilst everyone was watching.
I refuse to live in fear! Come hell or high water I will not back down! I will live my life!
But you have no life.
Ha. Even that won't stop me.

I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right.

I have a serious question. Is this REALLY a song about a trans woman? I am asking simply because there ARE woman out there who were born with balls and such. I can't find the song on YT as it isn't on there yet.

Also, if it IS about a trans woman/people then, not oly am I glad I stopped watching that show years ago but also, I would have stopped watching it even if I was continuing watching it today or if that aired back then.

The song is on youtube but blocked except to certain people, also known as private.

Another reason to add to the "why I haven't watched TV in 8 years" list.
