Hey there, I really need some help finding more info on obtaining a hysto in Ontario and getting it covered without camh. I am on the wait list (supposedly) for camh for evaluation and have kept my marker female so to get the hysto. I'm tired of having a female marker and my doctor insists that I wait to ensure my hysto is covered.

Does anyone know any doctors (if in Toronto area that'd be great) that would do a hysto?

i did some googling, couldn't find anything but if you want more answers you should try to look into sherbourne health centre (very good information about trans health) or also http://www.rainbowhealthontario.ca/lgbtHealth/find.cfm which can help you find places near you that do specialize in trans health services or you could just contact rainbow health ontario alone and find out information like that. CAMH has a huge waiting list, i went through them and i still am for my top surgery. the only reason i did was because i knew my stuff would be covered by ohip, even if it took awhile. actually just getting to the whole hormones part took awhile. as soon as i said i wanted my top surgery they booked me an appointment right away so once you go through the process, it becomes easier.

My friend had his hysterectomy at Toronto East General Hospital and I don't know who was his surgeon.
Maybe you can look at this page http://www.tegh.on.ca/bins/content_page.asp?cid=3-4855-4857 and try to contact the doctors who are listed to specialize in surgery.
His insurance refused to pay at first, because his legal gender had been changed to male, but the problem was eventually solved.
