i guess it's a good thing i dont have any friends

since moving back to my hometown after being gone for almost 5 years, I have virtually zero friends (well, that's not true. I have my dog and my fiancé, who are incredible, and I am massively grateful to have them in my life). a few people have reached out and tried to get me to come and hang out, but I just wont do it with these....things on my chest hanging out for all the world to see. after my last public social appearance, it became clear that I would be waiting till my gear arrived before doing anything social besides the obligatory classes and grocery shopping.

so I guess I'm just lucky I don't have any friends right now, so that once I get my binder and packer/stp, I can just start fresh, presenting as male. I already have social anxiety. I wonder if they will call me out. I wonder if they will just assume I am female because of my voice. 

i want to have friends though, i heard it was important....

If there are any decent sized cities within a reasonable driving distance, I'd check online to see if there are any trans groups that meet there. I'm taking your "classes" to mean college? You could join a club that you're interested in, or an LGBT group on campus (most have them, unless they're uber-conservative/a religious school). Or both! With on-campus groups/clubs, it's a little easier to get to know people, I think. You know you have at least one thing in common, at least.

Years ago, back before I decided I wanted to transition, I used to mess with people all the time by correcting them when they referred to me in an effeminate manner.  Just watching them get all confused and flustered was hilarious!  Ahh...society and their stupid gender roles and expectations...

Just do the same thing: if Person A refers to you as a woman, just smile and gently correct her/him by saying, "Erm, yeah, I'm a guy."  If Person A laughs at you or doesn't take you seriously or acts like an arse, play it cool and act like Person A is the moron.  You can always walk away and write Person A off as a douche bag.

yea, i find it refreshing i dont have friends right now though i technically do and she is just forcing herself to accept the fact.
