Transfom Binding Tape

Hey guys,  has anyone ever used this product? I saw it in the shop the other day and thought it looked interesting...not so much for every day binding, but maybe for those of use who just like a more seamless look for "special occasions." I'm wondering if it's safe/how it could be used safely, seeing as how tape is generally considered bad?  Perhaps if you leave a gap in the center, so you're not wrapped completely around, though that might impact the binding strength...

I'm skeptical firsthand since these do remind me a lot of Ace Bandages, which are horrid for your body. But I dunno... never heard of this exact kind of binding tape.
