Video: Texas voters say they wouldn't vote for 'a known heterosexual' for President

18th July 2014, 4:56 PM
Joseph Patrick McCormick

These voters in the US state of Texas apparently got in a bit of a mix up when they were asked whether they would vote for a heterosexual candidate for US President.

So used to stating that they would not vote for a gay candidate, the respondents in this video state their opposition to "a known heterosexual."

We have to look at these reports as sad, not funny.

Dealing with ignorance is what we have to do.

I saw a similar video a long time ago having people react similarly to the words Homo Sapien

When you see who votes, it's no longer a mystery why we get such awful politicians a lot of the time.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

There was a radio gag a few years ago in Florida where they called a woman up, pretended to be with the school, and told her they had figured out her son was a heterosexual.  I think it was Steve Allen wandering around New York asking people if they could vote for a heterosexual, although it might have been Jack Parr.  There were some guys who were at  a leftist rally in D.C. a couple of years go with a sign proclaiming that Obama was a Keynesian, and they found no shortage of people insisting that Obama couldn't be a Keynesian because he was born in Hawaii.

Florida is probably still the champion after an election campaign ~1950 saying the other guy was a "known extrovert."  Further, he "practiced celibacy before marriage," "practiced nepotism with his sister-in-law," had "openly matriculated with women" while at university, had a "sister who was a thespian," and "was himself a known homo sapien."

It's discouragingly widespread and persistent.

When in doubt, ignore the moral judgments of anybody who engages in cannibalism.

Wow. Just goes to show that stupidity isn't limited to ignorant people and ignorance isn't limited to stupid people. Just wow. No wonder society can't understand how we feel being transgender, hell they can't even understand themselves and what they are. ???

At least the interviewer did not get stomped nearly to death by telling the interviewees that they were probably heterosexual themselves.  On the other hand, did he figure out any of them may be gay???

If I had a desk, I would be facedesking right now. I guess this pillow will do.

People cannot be this ignorant, please tell me this does not exist..... Especially that Hitler-wannabe guy, that sent shivers down my spine.

I heard of a poll were people were asked what they would do if they found out their son was a homo-sapien..... and the majority said they would kick him out of the house......

Honestly, this doesn't surprise me. I've seen many people like this that happen to be as dumb as dirt. Humanity seems to be becoming less intelligent as time goes on. Not that I'm a genius or anything like that. (I've never even taken an IQ test because I'm afraid that the results will come back and I will feel like an utter moron. :D)

I'm disapointed there was no 2nd half of the interview when he tells them what it actually means. I think that would have been entertaining. anyway...that guy that was running for office and his face was covered up... holy crap dude. I hope you get what's coming to you.

I had to resist the urge to epic facepalm multiple times, in fear that my neck muscles might grow and inch thicker from having to endure the force.  I'd probably end up looking like Thunderf00t.  Not that having a huge neck is a bad thing, or anything.  I'm sure it comes in handy when you want to look intimidating.

Actually, people can be this ignorant, and much worse.  This is really only scratching the surface.  But if it makes you feel any better, the Hitler guy was most likely trolling.  At least, we hope he was trolling.  But, there no doubt are people who really believe that.  But, I find it hard to believe that he was being serious when he said that we should kill both "heterosexuals" and poor people.

QuoteI heard of a poll were people were asked what they would do if they found out their son was a homo-sapien..... and the majority said they would kick him out of the house......

People also signed petitions to ban dihydrogen monoxide, and there was another petition that people signed to propose a bill that would make it illegal for pedestrians to not wear helmets.

One of the main problems in the world today, and the reason we keep getting the same self-serving politicians in office, is because people simply don't use their brains.  I would bet that at least one person in this video clip knew what the word heterosexual actually means, but they just weren't thinking about it before they answered the question.  If you can't even get people to think critically about things that they do know about or understand, then you most certainly won't be able to get people to think critically about things which they don't understand.

So, all you have to do is say something to get someone thinking a certain way, and their brain basically shuts off.  That's why they respond by what they think you are saying rather than what you are actually saying.  I used to use this fact all the time to troll people, but it got kind of boring because it was too easy to fool them.  There was no challenge in getting someone to say something foolish, so it wasn't fun anymore.
