question about T

i've heard that taking T can make your face puffy, is this true? if so, is it permanent? if not, how long on average does it take to diminish? i unfortunately already have huge cheeks which make me look incredibly effeminate (i still pass as a 12 year old boy at least, even though i'm nearly 19 haha) and i think it'd kill me if it got even bigger. just fiy, my weight for my height is close to being underweight, so it's not an all-body issue, just a face issue.

The "puffy" tales I have heard of have been from the body being in a bit of shock....water weight. And those guys have had it go away as their body progresses through the T changes. Some had it start about 2 months and last for 6 or so...some it started later, etc.

There are people who gain weight on T, and those who lose weight. You can't really know what your body will do until it starts happening. Eat well, keep moving, stay on top of everything with your doc, and stay hydrated.

As far as I know, it's not an issue if your blood level is within the normal male range. It's something that can happen to bodybuilders who take massive doses of steroids, including T, and to people who are on corticosteroids for medical reasons.

The best preventative seems to be watching your sodium intake, as an excess can lead to water retention. I watch mine anyway, because otherwise my blood pressure runs a bit high, and my face has become leaner since I started T.

I don't really agree with this.  It's not the level of testosterone that "causes" it, but the normal changes that come with introducing that amount of the hormone into the body.  My levels were in the normal male range and I still had it happen to me. 

To the OP - if it does happen, it's only temporary.  I've never heard of anyone who had it happen to them not eventually have it disappear.

I haven't had the puffy face yet from T, so maybe some guys don't get it? or it takes longer, but I believe it is only temporary and will go away after a bit

woah, really? i guess it's a genetic thing then. too bad it's impossible to tell who it'll happen to and who won't experience it. thanks tho!

Not everybody gets it, and it does go away.  Generally with T you end up more angular in the face, even if you go through the puffiness thing.

yeah, i do wish T changes my baby face a bit but i won't get too hopeful or i'll just end up disappointed, heh.
