Are there any websites out there with examples of different doctors work to make it easy to compare? Especially with pics patients uploaded themselves since docs always post their best outcomes on their own sites...

There are some FFS galleries on Yahoo FFS Support Group . There are also a lot of information , opinions , personal experiences .
I don't know if you know about it already , it is a closed group , you have to send a request and after you are allowed in , you may see the content  .

Hey there I know 2 genuine girls on YouTube who had ffs with dr Z. They document the whole process. However they do not have particularly masculine faces to start.

As far as other doctors I'm not sure! Hope iv helped a little.

I've been imagining that different surgeons tend to do better with different types of faces. Is this true?
