I have an apointment with my endo next month and I want to ask him if he can put me on injections rather than pills.

I have read on this website someone said that injections are cheaper, get results fater and are safer because it goes directly into the blood and bypasses the liver.

Should I ask him to put me on injections? And might there be any reason for him to say no he won't or can't?

I'm not sure on why you wouldn't be able to, but most defiantly I think you should ask. Get some more information from him specifically before you decide, because you know you can't always trust the internet.

I personally just switched from patches to injections and have never been happier. Mine are once weekly on "E" and once a month on "P". I feel a whole lot better and feel I am getting much more in my system. I must be because the "girls" have really been talking about it!  ;D

I switched to injections 2 1/2 weeks ago after being on pills for 7 months. (Did my first self injection in front of a nurse on Tuesday.) Best decision I made. Even just after 2 weeks, I can feel a big difference. It is cheaper in the long run, but costs a little more upfront. A 5 month supply costs me about $108 which I pay up front, but that's 5 months of only paying for Spiro ($10/month) and Finasteride ($13/90 day supply).

is it cheaper in the long run because you get better/faster results from it than from pills?

Thanx everyone, you girls have convinced me, I want injections even more now

I've been considering switching to injections lately too. I like the patches, but the results I've been getting with them just aren't very good. I haven't 100% decided if I'm going to do injections or try pills sublingually first, but I'm actually starting to lean toward injections, despite my chronic fear of needles. I mean, it's only once a week, how bad could it be? Either way I don't think I'm going to switch until after my orchiectomy. But before I decide, I have a few questions. First, how bad is the actual injection process? I watched a video on YouTube of someone doing an injection, and the needle looked very big. :o But it also seemed like you might be able to do it without looking once you have a feel for where you need to do the injection, which I think would help me a lot to get through the process. They also said it didn't hurt that much, which I sincerely hope is true... Second, how much of a roller-coaster effect do you notice with your levels over the course of the time between injections? Do you notice that you have difficulty with low energy or mood swings the closer you get to injection time, or do you feel okay for the entire time? Third and most importantly, how safe is the process of injecting yourself? Is it something that's fairly difficult to mess up if you use the correct technique, or is it something where one false move and you'll be making a trip to the hospital?

I take E in the hip (butt) once a month.  It takes a slightly larger needle to squeeze the stuff through in a timely manner, but the pain is minor at this injection site (as opposed to the arm or wherever else).

Yeah i did four monthes pills before i went back on injections. Prior I was six monthes injections. From my personal experience asside from moods too on pills, injections are much much better for mood stability and E levels in serum.
As for results physically, I prefer injections. The high end amount vials are rare now too, so the amount in tests is much better now by far.

I recently switched from long term use of patches to an implant, and wow, what a difference. I have a bit of a phobia with injections, so the though of doing them myself, and every week is quite intimidating. I'm hoping for a gap of 6+ months with implants. The Dr does it with a local anesthetic and the implant site hurts somewhat for a few days (or more), but I'm over the fear which is the important bit.

I've had far better results on injections versus pills. I feel more steady, skin is softer, overall feminization seems better too. VERY happy with my decision to switch over.

I have them done by a nurse every 5 days in the butt/hip area. No rollercoaster because the injections are done frequently enough. I hear that more than 7 days apart between injections can lead to lows in some.

Every two weeks here too, for nine months.

At first my mood really seemed to take a dip before the next shot but now I am getting used to it. Sure notice when I get dosed though.

Ha! My body is like that too, thought I was the only one! I just "know" it is shot day tomorrow or soon as I can feel it getting low too. Though instead of every two weeks on time I do every ten days due to
Personal metabolic rates. I also heard half life intorduced is around 12 days, so I do every ten based on moods.
And yeah, even the wife notices that "high"- my sister from Virginia was up visiting last week's shot, and wanted to watch so I let her. She asked "so,can you tell its in you"? Before I can answer, the wifey speaks up "oh yeah you can, after about an hour she gets really really happy". I guess that says it all. Not sure if euphoric feelings are due to having estrogen and peogress, or due to the body recognizes right hormone. Most likely both. Here I thought I was crazy, or it was just me. :)
