She specialises in gender dysphoria and is a 1 hour train ride from my new house. We've been chatting by email this afternoon.

CBT can go to hell, I'm feeling happier just knowing Im gonna be treated properly and not have this be put down to depression :D

This is wonderful to hear! May it help you find what you are looking for.

And I'm going to have to echo Edge. CBT gives a lot of really useful tools, even if it hasn't helped your underlying issues.

My only problem with the CBT guys was they actively got annoyed with me when I brought up my gender stuff, and refused to help me. I was told i was going to be given contact information for a counsellor who specializes in gender and a month later there response was: you're not trans, your depressed. And then stopped my appointments, so I didnt reckon anything to them.

Only good thing that came from cbt was giving me the idea to fill my days with new things, so Ive taken to yoga, expanded my skills a bit with some work training and came out to my new housemates so we can all be open about stuff (Im not the only LGBT in the house :) ) so we're all cool and helping each other get out of the house and be social.

Aside from that, it hasnt done squat for my gender stuff, and to be honest all I really want is someone to talk to and help me work things out. Im still not entirely sure where I am with it since I still have a lot of questions. The CBT staff weren't able to handle it so brushed me off

That's a failure of theirs as therapists. :P
