Alright, so who decides when a transwoman goes on "menopause"? And what next?

I'm considering it myself, at least right now; I'll have to see how I feel in ~15 years when I'm close to the usual age, but at the moment it seems kind of nice to imagine getting to have at least *one* of the "standard female life cycle rituals" happen at the right age.

This is an interesting way to look at it.  No one wants menopause, but this is one female right of passage that we actually could go through if we wanted to.

I think the question of "when to scale back HRT - if at all" is a more interesting juncture for this topic.

"Wrong", Evelyn?  How am I wrong?  Northern Jane followed the advice of her doctor, stopped HRT and developed osteoporosis.  I an approaching 70, have been on HRT since I was 22, and I am in excellent health with an active sex life.

I a not sure what country you live in but in the USA, the doctors work for the patients.  They do what they can to make our lives healthy, enjoyable and as long as possible.  I just cannot imagine someone else deciding for me that I should suffer through menopause.  Out-f**king-rageous!

"Wrong Susan" as in 'wrong person' - I implied earlier what Susan's thoughts where right before your post.

Forgive my misinterpretation of your words.   Nevertheless, my opinion remains unchanged. ;D

You become like a menopausal woman after SRS or Orchi.

I don't know for sure, I heard that one can get hot flashes after either surgery.

I agree with Susan 522 that no one should have to suffer through menopausal symptoms Cis or Post. It truly is not a fun experience. I so have respect for my mom and what she has went through for so many years before they offered some real help.

Darn!!  I must have missed that memo too!

The only time I ever had hot flashes was waa-aayy back when, when I forgot to take my Premarin for a couple of days.  The hot flashes reminded me to get back on my meds.
