Yeah consistency's a big part of it. Have you been working on your speed? I go to a 24hr planet fitness in my town and it always works out. Treadmills suck I know but they're a great way to track your progress that way you'll know if you're challenging yourself ya know? If you don't want to bulk up then cardio it up consistently. Lifting small weight for long reps will help your upper upper body tone up while not necessarily making muscles bigger.

Yeah, I know all the ins and outs of cardio and how to build and lose muscle. All the machines keep track of calorie burn, so that's not an issue. I try to go at least 3 times a week but I wonder if I need to do more cardio since I seem to just keep my weight, but I don't seem to lose anything. Only difference that's occurred is that when I decided to bulk up my upper body a bit more I gained 2-3 kg mass. I don't seem to lose anything though.
Come watch with me as our world burns.

I don't exactly know your dietary conditions but here's something to remember: weight loss starts in the kitchen. You can't make up for 23 hours of bad behaviour and nutrition with 1 hour of exercise, no matter how intense.

Sometimes, it's hard to find words to tell you how much you mean to me. A lot of times, I don't say anything at all. But I hope someday, you'll understand, having you is what I live for...(I Love you my Queen )

What an incredible improvement new glasses made, Jossef! I don't know what helps more—the new colour or new shape—but either way, you look awesome dude. Nice choice!

I can only sign it.

Still don't get it, how someone could think, that you'd be female with those old glasses though.
They just aren't looking that good like your new glasses  ;)

Okay folks, This thread is here to help each of you gauge how your doing and for some what you can do better to pass as your authentic gender. It's hear to be helpful and that comes along with any friendly suggestions or critics others may have to assist you. It's important to not take these critics and criticisms personally. It can be difficult to do that sometimes, I know but it's important that we do because after all we are trying to help each other achieve our goals in transition and life. All the rules apply but these three rules are at the heart of problem at hand. Please keep them along with all the rules in mind. Thanks

Am I the only one who actually liked your old glasses better? Idk, maybe different camera angles would make me change my mind. But your old glasses look very masculine, and the style makes you look older (they look like young dad glasses, if that makes sense). The new ones remind me of a slightly smaller version of my old pair. For myself, I found that they made my face look shorter and chubbier because they were so big. I think smaller glasses help your face look longer and more male.

Either way, I think you look very male! You have good, thick eyebrows, and that will make you look more like a guy no matter what glasses you wear! (I plucked mine for too many years, and they're very thin now; I'm actually very jealous of your eyebrows!)

Do I still pass? I'm not feeling great especially with the fact I am overweight and pre everything.

Ok that's not the greatest quality but it was the only thing that at least involved some of my body

Here is my face (sorry it is black and white but I thought I looked like one of those old movie stars and idk.)

MenoImagination, I think you pass more in the second pic, but I think it's a pass for both. It could be the glasses in the 1st pic, or the angle, or the different hairstyles, or a combo of all 3. It's hard to say.

Also don't worry about being overweight, in fact when you get into the "husky" range of just being a little over, sometimes it can help with passing. It did for me, anyway. You have great bone structure, and your face isn't really rounded at all, so for pre-everything you're rocking what you got. Chin up!

Menoimagination, you definitely look very good for pre-T.  If anyone was going to pass, it would be you.  As Andrew said, the cut of your jaw helps.  Your larger shoulders (for a female) and lack of hips is very helpful, as well.  Your body is actually quite similar to mine before I started T and I think that helped me be read as male back then.

I think you are pretty lucky, actually, as I bet after your first voice drop will start being read consistently as male, if you aren't already.

I can't believe I'm putting my picture up, but here goes nothing!

(Took me forever to figure out how to upload this btw, I think flickr was being fickle.)

Sorry, I don't have many pictures of myself to choose from. Pre-T, I pass fairly often (until people hear my voice). How old do I look? Anything I should try to change? Maybe I'll be able to get a better picture later so I can ask some hair advice (even though I'm always wearing a hat, I still never know what to do for men's hairstyles).

I want to try to get a picture with my glasses sometime so I can hear what you guys think. They're men's frames but I seem to get "she" more often when wearing them.

@Menoimagination:
I totally think you pass! You've got very strong, masculine facial features. I love the detail in your cheeks. Also, you've got a crazy male hairline for someone who's pre-everything! You will do so well on T, no doubt!

You definitely pass man. I don't have any suggestions. You already have a pretty masculine hairline, from what I can see of your hair it looks fine

the only thing that throws me off is your eyebrows, they're a little thin to be considered masculine; unless you're androgynous, which is perfectly fine! definitely a pass. t will work wonders for you

Thanks!
The sad part is I actually wear an eyebrow powder to fill them in. I havent touched my brows in over 6 months, but I think I plucked them for too long for them to grow back normally. My hairs are still slowly coming back, but I might not get any noticeable difference until I get on T. My natural brows pre-plucking were thick in every way.  :/ Im actually trying to remember to buy castor oil (I think thats the one) and see if it can help my hair growth any.

Have you tried shaving a bit? I know weird, but I noticed after I started shaving bits instead of tweezing them they grew back much fuller than before.

Hi there.

Do you have any tips for me for passing? I'm only out to one friend, my girlfriend, and my therapist **and to you lovely internetters :). My next step is to try going into a public space and see how it feels to pass to strangers. I'm worried that I won't be able to pass and won't be able to experience this crucial step.

Whaddya think? In this picture I'm wearing my binder and packer.

I think you look really good dude. The thing about passing is having confidence. I make sure to be confident, kind of stand up straight, and give a lot of eye contact when I can. It's hard to do that when you are still binding and I know I didn't have any confidence at all when I still had my boobs. After getting surgery and going back to work I have much more and I feel 1000000% better than I did. I'm much more vocal at my job and started to be more authoritative than I have in the past. I'm able to speak to strangers without feeling like they are judging me. I also don't cross my arms over my chest anymore because I was trying to hide my chest. I think doing that made people look at my chest and I know people looked at it when I put my arms down (at least that's how I felt)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

i was wondering whether surgery would give me the confidence and self worth that i desperately need....and i think that it will. i'm similar to you, from what i read.
