 :) Hi all!

Here's a question that I have read about, watched videos
that give "answers" to, and been advised on by an older GG:

Is there a basic difference or differences between a "man's"
way of walking and and a "woman's" way of walking -- and
if so, what is it or what are they?

Please give your own thoughts and feelings, as well as any-
thing you care to pass on from what you have read or been
told.

Thanks!

Ya.  Women's pelvuses are wider so there's more swing to it.

In my general observations, men walk with their feet more parallel to eachother, so when walking each foot moves forward in its own line.

Women walk in one line, so when moving one foot forward, the foot moves ahead of the other foot.  Doing this also adds a little more swish to the hips when walking as well.

I wrote an article about this some time back.  I believe that it made its way to the wiki.  Check there for it.  While  it is somewhat stereotypical, it might give you some pointers to changing the way you walk.

The biggest change that anyone can make and learn is to take smaller steps.

I've seen quite a few GG's walk like men....and vice versa.....these are stereo - typical views...I think..

I'm still working on it myself, whenever my mom and I are out shopping she keeps trying to fix my walk  :P

After forcing yourself to walk a certain way for awhile its hard to change 100%!

Boom Chica Boom.....Boom Chica Boom.....my hips were not listening to my head when I was a guy; said left right, left....left right, left. Boring.  Also, I couldn't dance.

But now my female brain tells my hips...Boom Chica Boom......Boom Chica Boom! :icon_walk: :icon_dance:   Now they listen.
It's all in the hips, girls

I will have to print that out as that is probably one of the top questions I get from other m2f T people. I have always moved in what is considered a femme manner so I did not have to unlearn and relearn. I just had to hide it when I was trying to be a guy. When asked by other gals I have been at a complete loss of words and give up trying to help them out with it.

Thanks Cindi. :)

I personally think that women sway when they walk because of there hips and they wiggle there bum, men just walk straight with hardly any movement. However you can only really tell this if you look at them from behind.

That was a good brief Cindi!
I would add also that girls tend to walk as if their back and head were rigidly connected together, men tend to have a more wobbly head movement. In addition I noticed that even when I corrected for this, I also had an upper body sort of rotational movement that I had to practice undoing. Learning to keep ones head and back straight generally cured  the head  problem. Maybe that book on the head excercise really works.
Men tend to swing their arms from the shoulder, women from the elbow.

..and may I ask why are you using my icon?  >:D  Just kidding!  Good thread, Sandra.  :)  Have you ever watched the Miss Universe pageant?  Have you observed closely at how "Miss Venezuela walks"?  ;)

You are wasting your time doll. Reason flew out the window the minute this thread started.

Look, even women don't walk like women the way y'all think women walk. If they did, they wouldn't need to be taught by modeling agencies how to walk like a woman should walk to impress other women that think all women must walk like that if they are real women.

If you just keep the elbows on the body and don't shuffle from side to side, you'll have eliminated the biggest differences. Women have shorter steps because they're shorter, proportionally, the steps are actually the same length.

i think you need to walk like you fill and if you look at a gg walking then she might be filling sexy or whatever so i think it come down to how you fill so walk like you fill not like you think everyone thinks you should

That took me a few times reading it to get it down lol.

Just today I saw a GG walking extreamly manly.  As if she was trying to do it, and exaggerating it a lot.  Arms held out way from her sides, shoulders moving back and forth and a manly type stride.  It was rather interesting to watch after reading along on this post.  I think that the military has a lot to do with GG and the way they try to present them selves while in uniform.  There is always a debate about woman and the front lines, and I think that most of them try to present a manly appearance to show that they are as tough as the guys.

From my personal observations, it seems that women tend to lead with the hips and men tend to lead with their upper torso or shoulders. A good way to get intouch with swinging your hips is to get a bellydancing video, or take a class if you can. I found a great one at Ross department store for $5 and you could probably find cheep ones on one of the online auction sites, just becareful about regional coding for dvds. And it helps you get inshape, just dont over do it.

I know it sounds very simplistic, but I watch, watch, watch other women walk, and imitate them.  It feels natural to me, and isn't over-stated hip swing, etc.
