So I've been on HRT for about 2 weeks now, and I go in for delestrogen injections every two weeks. I also take Spiro twice a day.  For the first two weeks, everything was fine, and I had no negative reaction to the treatment whatsoever. But now, three days after my second injection, I noticed two large bumps on the outer side of my arms, just below both elbows, and one large splotch on my knee. I went to bed thinking it would pass, and woke up with red, itchy welts on my hands, one singular welt next to my eye, and  one above my ear. The ones on my arms have gone down considerably, but they've remained for nearly 15 hours now. I noticed them right after I took my Spiro, and honestly, I'm kind of freaking out about it. I really, REALLY don't want it to be the Spiro. I don't even understand how it could be the Spiro, considering I've been taking it for weeks now and nothing like this has happened yet. So, what is this? hives? Something else?

Peanut oil?

Could be in the shot.

Agree.  :) Mine "E" is in Cotton Seed Oil and Progesterone in Sesame Oil. No problems with those yet. See if they can switch suspension oils. :)

Definitely sounds like hives, but it might not be the medications at all; my wife had that happen and *nobody* could pinpoint a cause.

I'd definitely call a doctor, just in case.

My husbands last T came in peanut oil but had all kinds of red warning labels on the box and bottle.

Its hard being she said she had it done so will have to check with the office.

See your endo immediately.  Could be nothing, could be a gradual reaction...

Could be the oil or preservatives in the E formula or inactive ingredients in the pills. My E is in sesame oil and I'm fine with that. My Prometrium is in sunflower seed oil and I'm fine with that too. Or could just be that you are stressed with all the changes going on. You need to discuss this with your doctor. ;)
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience
