I thought maybe this topic might help new ftm who might not know anything about male colognes, or what's good and what's not.? I read some topics asking for help how to buy clothes in your new gender, and some suffering financially with all of the other expensive aspects of transitioning, and this is just another expense piled on, so maybe I can suggest a few things that might keep some from wasting precious money on things you wont like or want to use.. I also hate going into stores and browsing for this kind of stuff, I always feel pressured to get whatever the clerk shows me, and its so much more painless buying online, cheaper too..

Maybe you guys can add your advice and likes and dislikes below too.?

To start, I've never liked anything that comes boxed on the shelves of places like Walk mart etc., truth is people gave me that stuff for years, and I was too lazy to replace it..? But this summer I got serious, threw out all that old stuff, and just went looking for a couple of really awesome scents, something you never have to worry if others will like, and make you absolutely smell awesome every time.. I mean, for you FTM trying to pass its just one less thing to worry about, right..?

So I found out most of the ones made by top designers are really good, but I bought some Liz Claybourne, and hated it.. A lot of them don't last too long, and after a few hours are gone.? All of my old ones were like that, its so frustrating..

I came up with 3 I use exclusively now, and don't have to look anymore, these are freaking nectars from the Gods..! These all will last on you morning to night, the longest lasting colognes ive ever used.. They are all Jean Paul Gaultier, "JPG summer", "Gaultier2", and "JPG Kokorica"... each one has its use, "summer" is lighter, breezy, for just hanging out.. "gaultier2" Is my very favorite, it's Unisex, male or female, and is just awesome anywhere.. "kokrico" is really deep, kind of dark sexy goodness, its awesome for a special evening, a little more formal...
If I could only afford 1, Gaultier2 unisex all the way..! All cost about $40.

Anyway, there's not too many places here I can help and give experienced advice in, so I hope this helps someone..

Well thanks a load cause I'm always looking for something that smells nice! My best friend tells me it's the female in me when it comes to smelling good. Now I'm sorry I can't offer much in detail but it's some Playboy stuff out there that smells like heaven in a bottle. I got it from a friend and he sprayed some on me and I swear I turned from lil' old Trell, to female magnet in less than a minute. Add on my new haircut and clothes I was actually making my friends and my female friends bfs either jealous, staring to make sure nothing happens way to hard, or both when they saw me cause I literally had girls all on me either petting or smelling (or both!). I wish I could give you the name but Adam never let me use that after everyone saw the results.

I swear, that stuff had drugs or something in it.  :D

I use to wear Polo years ago, the original and sport. (Sometimes I would wear my wife's scant)

Now, I like clean and unscented underarm spray.

Since HRT my nose is very sensitive.

Some of the newer old spice ones are nice. To be honest I don't know. I really don't wear any anymore, just shower gel and I use my wife's (we don't bother to buy separate ones anymore)

The newer old spice smells fantastic. I personally like Swagger. My grandmother says Sebastian Paul is a good scent as well but I've personally tried it. I'll look into the Playboy stuff and figure out the name of it.

After looking online, I think I used either Playboy Malibu or Hollywood. I've swerving towards Malibu, but I can seriously be wrong. I'm basic this off looks not scent. I'm going to the store later on when I find it or another one that smells good I'll report back!

I don't think I like traditionally manly smells. They remind me of older men. I have this Rue 21 Infinite Summer, Michael Jordan by Michael Jordan (lol), and Azzaro Chrome which are described as "citrus." They just smell clean to me... Instead of like I'm masking a smell.
People tell me I smell good so I guess that's what matters! None of these are expensive.

I love my man in Obsession for Men Calvin Klein cologne. Or any man, it will turn my head every time.

Ooh la la mon amour.

I think the most popular scents among my guy friends are Acqua de Gio, Burberry Brit, and the aforementioned Gaultier colognes.
I think Lacoste colognes smell the best though.
