I started spironolcatone on Wednesday night. To be honest, I haven't seen much of an increase in peeing, and this has me a little concerned because it is such a common side effect. I know the spiro is working for me as a blood pressure medication because I've been tapering off my old blood pressure med and I've been taking my blood pressure several times a day. (Actually, spiro seems to work better than the stuff I was on, so getting on spiro has been a two-fer for me.)
The only thing I can think of is that I've been cutting out the sweets because my endocrinologist says that I am prediabetic (by the way, I'm 35 and in the normal weight range, so being hypertensive and prediabetic makes no sense whatsoever). Maybe whatever water weight I had before starting spiro is already gone.
