Not so sure about my name choice, anymore

So, I went for Reuben when I looked up the name, as I found it an interesting name, and I enjoyed its meaning.  It's basically "Behold - a Son," or "A son is revealed."  I felt it was fitting, being an FTM, but...I'm honestly tired of being called a sandwich -_-

Anyone have any suggestions for me?  Does anyone here see a name that they think "fits" me?

Call me Reuben Damian/Toby
Preferred pronouns - He, His, Him | Orientation - "Straight" | Future surgeries - Mastectomy, Hysto, Vaginectomy, & hopefully Phallo.

Have you chosen a middle name? Perhaps go by that, or initials?

My first name is Aaron, chosen for a variety of reasons, with one being the meaning. My middle name is the masculine version of my birth name. I generally just go by A.J. because the Aaron/Erin pronunciation subtleties.......
To be or not to be....that is the question

Spend time reading lists of male names. Start a list of ones you like and make notes under each one. Try to think of any reasons you might get sick of a given name and take note. Try to remember if a name is one you have heard before and liked for a long time (these may be a better bet than something just encountered, which you might only like initially). As you rule names out, write down why, don't just take them off the list. Look for things names you decide against have in common, same for names you favor, to try to isolate what exactly you want and don't want in a name.

Thanks for that!  I've found Damien and Damon.  Both of them stem the same, so they mean ,basically, the same thing, which is ""to conquer, master, overcome, tame."

Korbin? Charles?
I like Korbin, but Charles isn't a name I've ever really liked.  I dated a guy named Charles, and I don't like him much anymore, and, like i said, I never really enjoyed the name.  Thanks for suggesting Korbin! :)

I think I've really started to like Korbin Damian.  Put together, it roughly translates as "Raven who overcomes, masters, calms, and tames."  They sound pretty good together, too.

Ben? You would know what it's short for, but you could just be called Ben.

Ryan55

lol I feel your pain, I actually have been going back and forth between Ryan or Michael for a name. Ended up with Ryan. If you like Rueben then use it. Just tell people to knock it off. MacG had a good idea with Ben though.

Jill F

Hi guys,

It's just Jill here hopping the fence once again.

The best name for you is the one that fits you like a glove and makes your brain light up in a happy way when you hear it directed at you.

Anyone up for being Jack?  I needs me a Jack. LOL

I would have been a Jack if it wasn't the masculine version of my birth name.

I know a cis male Rueben who goes by Ben.

Names are hard.  I've tried on a few, and I'll probably just stick with something close to my given name (which is masculine-sounding and historically gender-neutral).

Something I've been told when I posted on here about my name is that it's a good idea to go a site like behindthename and see what was popular for boy babies in your birth year. I had really liked Adrian but it wasn't a popular name that year and it was a hair away from the famous 'Aiden'.
